Has anyone else heard that stupid song?? It gets in your head & not in a good way. Everytime I hear someone say Friday I think of it. UGH! It's been a rather dull week. I guess in some ways that's good. Dull means nothing bad happened.
I done my 3 Yogalates classes this week. Monday I was really excited because the teacher has been cracking the back door & I managed to grab a spot right in front of it. SO AWESOME because of the fabulous breeze. For those of you that don't know, they like it to be around 90 degrees for these classes. Something about less risk of injury to your muscles. I'm waiting for the day someone passes out & I just hope it's not me! I have a fainting history but that's another story. So Tuesday, I grabbed my spot again but it was only 86 in class so she didn't open the door. Bummer. Yesterday, we had a fill in teacher. I had this chick for the first time last week. She's not my favorite. She talks A LOT. So much so that sometimes she loses count. Well, yesterday was "cooler" outside than it's been lately. It was in the low 80's I think. Inside it was only 84 so not only did she not crack the door, she TURNED THE HEAT ON! Throughout the workout she kept asking how everyone was doing & then telling us how great she felt. I'm glad she's not the regular teacher.
I really wanted to take today off & get up early & watch all the Royal Wedding festivities but my co-worker was off & one of us needs to be in the office. I'm not having a good hair day due to the fact that I kept turning off the blow dryer to watch & hear what was going on. My hair dried kinda funky. Then I was almost late. Anyway, I thought Kate was gorgeous. I loved her dress & really loved Pippa's dress. I've been looking at all sorts of pics on the internet today.
Tonight, we'll be going to the LSU Baseball game. They've actually won twice this week. I wasn't at either game & I fully expect them to go back to their losing ways tonight. We'll see.
Tomorrow is our annual "Boil on the Bend". It's a neighborhood crawfish boil. We live in a big subdivision but we're in the very back & our street along with another street, Morgan Bend, meet in a cul de sac which is where the crawfish eating happens. Hence the name "Boil on the Bend". This is just something that a few of the neighbors put together for our area of the subd. There's a space walk for the kids & lots of food. It's always a lot of fun. These will be my first crawfish of the season.
Allison, Wendy & I plan to walk the lakes in the morning too. On that note, I lost another 2 lbs. I weigh myself on Wednesdays. My thought is that I usually do really good during the week but we generally go out to eat at least once a weekend so if I mess up a little I have a couple of days to get back on track so I don't get discouraged when I get on the scale. So far so good.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Any fun plans?

Happy Easter!
We had a great weekend. I hope everyone else did too. I was one of the few people that actually had to work Friday. To reward myself for that I stopped & got my nails done on the way home. HAHA!! That place was packed. We didn't do anything Friday night but stay home & listen to the LSU game. What a waste of 3 hours. They lost AGAIN.
Saturday morning Allison, Wendy, Emily & I went & walked the lakes again.
Saturday morning Allison, Wendy, Emily & I went & walked the lakes again.
Isn't Emily adorable? I just love her pink jellies!! She just chilled during the walk & snacked on puffs & yogurt bites. Once our walk was over I headed to Walmart. I RARELY shop at Super Walmart but I had a big list & it was easier. Surprisingly, it wasn't as packed as I expected. The one thing that was on the top of my list & the most important purchase was sold out. CADBURY EGGS!! I gave up sweets for Lent. I didn't buy any before because I didn't want to tempt myself. Besides, I usually stock up after Easter when it's all marked down. They had the caramel eggs & nothing against caramel, I happen to really like it, it's not the same as regular Cadbury eggs. I did end Lent with a cheeseburger & chocolate shake from Sonic. It was SOOOOO GOOD!!!
I then spent several hours in the pool. I floated & read & floated & napped. It was delightful. For some absurd reason I decided to get out of the pool & go inside to watch the LSU Baseball game. They lost AGAIN. 3 more hours that I'll never get back. Then Dean & I got in the pool & the neighbors came over.
Dean & I went to Mass Easter Sunday & then came home to start getting everything ready. My parents, Dean's parents, Dean's mawmaw, my brother Scott, his wife, Lydia & Logan were coming over. We spent the day in the backyard.
I took this picture before everyone got there. When Logan got there all the noodles went into the pool. He had so much fun!We brought him to my neighbors for an Easter egg hunt & he wouldn't take his floaties off. I guess he knew, no floaties, no pool.
My parents got him this little chair. He doesn't sit often but I think he liked that it was his size. He's very excited in this picture because he found a leaf floating by. It was so little I'm not sure how he even saw it.
Dean & Logan chilling. All the swimming made Logan thirsty. Apparently, the flies were bothering Dean. I didn't notice the fly swatter until I saw this picture. They were listening/watching the LSU game. I learned from the previous 2 days that it wasn't worth getting out the pool to watch. They lost AGAIN.
This morning on my way to work I stopped at CVS to get my Cadbury Eggs. I only wanted 1 pack. I'm not going overboard. As of last Wed. I've lost 12 lbs. I don't want to undo that. Well, no need to worry, there wasn't the first Cadbury Egg in the store. I was about to cry.

Another Short Weekend!
Friday night we spent our evening at LSU watching the baseball team win. It was close but hey, a win is a win. Saturday morning we had a guy coming to strip & re stain our front doors. This was a job that I was planning to do myself but I haven't gotten around to it & the guy did several of our neighbors. He did a good job & gave us a good price so I hired him. Well, they guy was supposed to show up between 9-9:30. Guess what? He was a no show. Not only a no show, a no call. When I called him he didn't answer. I left a message & he never called back. Sooooo aggravating.
I went to my parents. Me & mama went to Lancaster House. This is a place that is only open one weekend a month & it's about 5 mins. from my parents house. I got a thingy to put outside but I forgot to take a picture of it. After that I went across the street to my brother & sis-in-laws to visit & play with Logan. He was showing off for me.
He loves the big 4 Wheeler too. It goes faster.
I love that sweet little face!
Excuse the finger in this picture. I was trying to take the "no hands" picture. I see plenty of ER visits in their future with this kid. He's such a dare devil!
This 4-Wheeler has a gas pedal. Yes he was moving in this pic too.

This little 4 wheeler has the gas on the handles so while he was in this pose he was riding around the yard.
This was one of the few times he was still. He loves the big 4 Wheeler too. It goes faster.

Then he moved on to the slide. I swear it makes me tired watching him.
With his daddy.
I think the expression on his face in this one is hilarious! I can't believe he'll be 2 in May. I don't know where the time has gone.
When I got home Saturday Dean & I went & had pizza. There's a fairly new place called Red Zeppelins. I had a Groupon or Living Social gift certificate. It was really good! After pizza we went to the LSU game. What a debacle that was. 16-3 & LSU wasn't the one that scored 16 runs. Not good.
I decided to forgo the Sunday baseball game to go walking. Allison, Wendy & I are all dieting/watching what we eat & exercising. We "walked the lakes". The lakes are at LSU. We walked down Sorority Row & through the neighborhood surrounding the lakes & LSU. It's a really pretty walk. Most of the houses are gorgeous & fairly huge. It's almost 3.5 miles around. As Allison says, "the great thing about walking the lakes is you have to walk all the way around". After our walk we had lunch at Mellow Mushroom. We all did so good just having low cal salads & we drank a ton of water. We ate on the patio. We had a lot of fun. Yep, fun while exercising. Imagine that! Basically, I spent the entire weekend outside. Kinda amazing for me.
Happy Monday!

Where's My Weekend??
It was 3 whole days & it's over!!! Dean & I took Friday off. There was some yard work I wanted to do & we had errands to run & baseball games all weekend. We managed to get most of the outside work done but there are still a couple of things that I was too tired to do. There's always next weekend right? Then I'll take pictures & post. I'm very happy to say that there is a very strong possibility that we'll be swimming in March this year!!! The water was up to 78 degrees today. This makes me very happy!!!!!
I went to the LSU games Fri. & Sat. night. I skipped Sunday & went for a pedi. It was lovely. The games? Not so much. LSU was swept. Yeh, they were playing Florida who just happens to be the #1 team in the country, but swept none the less. I had a good time Saturday night in spite of the loss. My friends Allison & Jill were there & I was able to sit with them & chat the whole game.
Today after my pedi, I knocked a few things off my to do list & finally had a little time to lay out by the pool with a book. That was at 4:30. Seriously, I have no idea where the time went. How was y'alls weekends? Do anything fun?

Not a fan of Mondays
Yes, I know it's better than the alternative but I'm still not a fan. Especially, with this new time. It takes me awhile to get used to it.
Friday night we went to the LSU game. It was a close game but they won. There really isn't anything more to say about that. Saturday, I went to Yogalates. It was only the 2nd time I went last week because I took Monday off since I was off of work. The last 2 weeks routines have been a little tough. Today will be a new one. While I was at Yogalates Dean was putting together our new patio furniture. YAY!!!
The fire pit can also be used as an ice bucket or it can be taken out & it's just a solid table. We ordered it online. It was hard to pick out the fabric for the cushions but I'm very pleased with it.
We went to the game Saturday afternoon & my mom & dad came with us. It was another close game but LSU won. Dean & I went to La Carreta Saturday night. I love their tortilla soup & their Rumritas! I got the chipotle shrimp to go with my soup & it was soooo good.
Sunday we were up bright & early to go to Mass. When I say bright & early, I mean up at 6:00 for 7:00 Mass. Which of course was really 6:00 Mass. I much prefer Sat. afternoon Mass but we were at the game. After Mass we stopped & did our grocery shopping & when we got home I took a little nap. It really was little, only an hour. There was plenty of stuff to be done Sunday so I told Dean to only let me sleep an hour. I'd decided not to go to the game so I started working outside. I washed down the rockers on our porch & I started a spray paint project. Naturally, I ran out of paint mid project. It times like that when I wish Lowe's was closer. I didn't bother to go get anymore because my trigger finger was killing me. This morning my wrist & forearm are sore. So weird. I'll finish next weekend. Anyway, I pulled weeds & then we had lunch. Dean did ribs on the BBQ pit. They were delish! Then off he went to the game with his dad & nephew, Drew. Off I went to get my nails done. They were looking awful. Note to self: always wear gloves when operating a can of spray paint. Anyway, I picked Got A Date To-Knight by OPI for my nails & they remind me of little pink Easter eggs. It's always sooo hard for me to pick a color because I like them all so much.
When I got home I sat outside in the new furniture & read awhile. The weather was beautiful all weekend. Hopefully, it will be like that next weekend too because I have a list of "projects" to do outside! How was everyone's weekend? Do anything fun?

Now I have to get new cushions for my glider because of an unfortunate incident with some BIRDS!! More on that in a future post. Suffice it to say I'm ready to KILL them.

Happy Friday!!!
I'm so glad it's Friday!!! Hopefully, the day will go by quickly. Last night Dean & I had to go to Lowe's. Dean's off today & he's going to do some stuff in the yard. We decided to have dinner at Chili's. Let's just say this hasn't been the best eating week for me. I had a cup of chicken enchilada soup. O.M.G. sooooooo good!!! The queso is good too but I like my friend Allison's version better.
Since we were going to Lowe's & Shoe Station is right there & I had a 25% off coupon we stopped there too. Shoe Station ALWAYS has a coupon in the paper or online. I NEVER buy shoes there without a coupon. Last night I found these.
I LOVE them!! Fuchsia, 3 inch heel, what's not to love right?? They surprisingly didn't feel too uncomfortable when I tried them on. The original price was $34.99 but they were on sale for $19.99 & then with the coupon I got them for $15. You can't pass that up! I have a dress that I bought last summer that's black & white with a pink belt. I plan to wear it for Easter & I thought these would look good with it.
A trip to Shoe Station isn't complete without a flip flop purchase. I can't help it. I love them. I think I'm addicted maybe. I really wanted some sort of yellow ones but surprisingly they didn't have any. I got these.
I love all the bling! I don't have any silver flip flops & these are comfy. I like the thick heel.
These were originally $50, on sale for $40 & with the coupon I paid $30. The brand is Corky's. I've never had that brand but I liked the bling better than the Volatiles. While I was paying Dean signed me up for the "Free Shoes For a Year" contest. He kept talking about how much money it would save him. Personally, I think he's really lucky that I'm perfectly content to buy cheap affordable shoes & don't need a closet full of Louboutins! Oh & he bought a pair of flip flops too!
This weekend the LSU baseball team plays Cal State Fullerton. This is a huge series. Fullerton is really good & LSU has only lost one game but they haven't played anyone that's any good so this will be a great test to see just how good or not so good LSU is.
Fullerton has been one of my faves since 1998. They came to LSU for Regionals. LSU beat them which meant they went to Omaha to the College World Series. After the last game the entire team came across the street (where we all tailgated) & ate & drank with us. We had sooo much fun. We all gave them LSU shirts & hats & they gave us Fullerton hats & shirts. The ones they were actually wearing. To this day I still have the shirt I got & it's one of my favorites. It's so comfy but I'm sad to say it's getting pretty thin & probably won't last much longer. Yes, I know t-shirts don't generally last for 13 years. Anyway, after tailgating with them several of us took several of the players to a local bar & hung out. Tailgating at The Box & meeting some of the opposing teams was always so much fun! Needless to say this weekend with Fullerton brings back a lot of great memories. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Girls Night!
Thursday night I went with some friends to The Melting Pot. They have a Girls Night special the first Thursday of the month. We had so much fun! The special is 4 courses for $30 & they have $6 Martinis. We chose the Fiesta Cheese which was really, really good. Of course if you give me cheese & jalapenos I'm a happy girl. That reminds me of back in the day when me & Vicki went to Ole Miss for the SEC baseball tournament. They didn't have Dr. Pepper or jalapenos!! I was NOT a happy girl. I mean who sells nachos without jalapenos??? Anyway, with the cheese they bring little pieces of bread, tortilla chips & veggies to dip. Soooo good!! Here's the meat.
iPhone pics, sorry! We had shrimp, chicken, filet & beef tenderloin. It was good but I can do without the meat portion. I'd rather just eat cheese & chocolate!! The salad was good too.
Then came dessert! We chose the Turtle chocolate. O. M. G. SOOOOOO GOOOD!!! Milk chocolate, caramel & pecans.
This is all the stuff to dip.
Those big round things are marshmallows covered in Oreo crumbs & Vanilla wafer crumbs. They were DELISH!! The strawberries were fab too. There were brownies, rice krispee treats, bananas & cheesecake. Yeh, it's 8:30 in the morning & I could so go for some of that chocolate right now!
Friday night we went to the LSU baseball game. It rained off & on the whole night. Between innings there was entertainment. The Zooperstars were the FUNNIEST things. They got some of the players involved in their show & it was hilarious. There's another game tonight but it's supposed to be raining so I have my doubts as to whether I'll be there or not.
Tomorrow we're off to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. I'm very excited about this because I've never been to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Yes, I've lived in the Baton Rouge area, 60 miles from New Orleans, my entire life!!!

Nap anyone??
I'm EXHAUSTED! It's 8:30 & I need a nap. I had big plans for the weekend. Friday afternoon I went to Yogalates. WOW! It was hard. Nobody should have to work that hard on a Friday. I'm also leery about today's class. There was mention of splits on Friday. The last time I did a split I think I was in 7th grade & I don't even know if I did it correctly then. After Yogalates it was home to shower & get ready to go to the LSU game. They won again which is good but then again they were playing Holy Cross who isn't known for their athletics & these were the first ballgames they played this year.
Saturday's plans were to lay out by the pool so that I could get a little sun as to not frighten anyone when I'm wearing shorts. There were a couple of problems with this. The first being that we needed to go to Sam's & Lowe's. Dean was willing to go by himself but those are two of my favorite stores!! It was really cloudy when we got up so it wouldn't do me any good to stay home & lay out. Off we went. I got a cute top & a swimsuit cover up. I forgot to take pictures. At Lowe's I picked out some plants for pots that I have on the patio. I made a conscious effort to buy things that are drought tolerant because I tend to forget to water them. I wanted to get some hanging plants but I need to do some research because that's one thing that I CANNOT keep alive. I don't know what the problem is but nothing lives that I hang.
Once we got home with all of our stuff it was time to work in the yard. By then the sun was out. I pruned some things & cut back some other things while looking longingly at my chaise lounge by the pool. Once everything was cut back I planted my new flowers. Then it was lunch time & then time to shower & get ready. Book Club was Saturday night & I was going to Mass before that. I needed to make a quick Hob Lob run so I did that before Mass. After Mass I had to go pick up Chicken Salad to bring to Book Club. I also had to stop at Racetrack for a Dr. Pepper ICEE!!! A friend told me about these things a couple of weeks ago. SOOOOO GOOD!!! What makes it even better is it was free. There I was standing in line & when it was my turn the cashier said "Is that all?" I said yes, she said "You can have it." I said "What??" she said "Next in line please". Um ok, thanks! I mean it was only $1.00 but I was happy.
If you've been reading awhile you know we refer to our book club as "The Worst Book Club Ever". We rarely read the same books & we rarely talk about books. This time we talked a little about a few books & several of the girls are/have read some of the same books. Most of us that were there have a Nook or Kindle so we talked about those a lot too. As usual we had great food. I ate too much but I'd prepared & hadn't eaten much beforehand. Pretty much everyone that was there is on some sort of diet. Once we started talking about that is when things got a little crazy & we got sidetracked. Our very, very funny friend Allison ended up flat on her back on the floor with me giving her instructions on how to do some Yogalates moves. HILARIOUS!!! It was 11:00 before I got home.
Then came Sunday. I went & picked up my nephew, Logan. We went to Lowe's. Yes, two days in a row. When I planted my flowers I determined that I'd bought more plants than I had pots. This is what I got.
It's a bird bath. I love it. I have the perfect spot for it. Once I dig up some iris's. I've been looking for one. I don't care for birds but I'm hoping if they have their own little spot they'll stay away from my patio. I asked Logan what he thought his Nonk (Dean) was going to think about me spending more money. He threw his head back & cackled. It was hilarious!! I wish I would've gotten a picture.
Once we finished at Lowe's we went to see Mike the Tiger. For those that don't know, he's LSU's mascot. I'm going to do a separate post about that because several people have asked me about it. Mike was sleeping but he was in a good spot where we could see him. I swear all that tiger does is sleep. I've been out there several times & I've NEVER seen him roaming about. Then it was off to McDonalds for lunch.
Logan likes ketchup. I thought this one was so funny. It's like he's thinking "Why are you taking pictures of me eating lunch??"
Logan likes to do things himself. He's a bit strong willed. HA! He wanted my drink. Logan has a habit of just dropping things when he's done. I had my hand on the cup but he was having none of it & removed my hand. You can see I was ready to grab it if he let go. He enjoyed the Dr. Pepper. Speaking of, I ordered a small drink because I didn't want to drink a lot of DP. I've been doing very well & only drinking one a week. I had one Saturday plus the Icee. Apparently, McDonalds doesn't have small drinks anymore except for Happy Meals. Oh Well. It's not going to kill me.
After lunch we went to my house & got Dean & went to the baseball game. Our seats are on the top row & there's an area behind our seats where you can stand up. Logan liked that spot because he could check out what was going on down below.
He was so funny.
He sat & watched the game for a minute.
He cheered!
He sat with Nonk long enough to get a picture.
And he played with Dean's dad. He sacked out in the car on the way home. We had a great time with him. I can't believe how fast the time is going. He'll be 2 in May!
I brought him home & went to my parents for a little bit. When I got home I planted the last of my flowers in my new pot & I watered everything & I finally sat down on the patio & read for a little while. Next weekend is 3 day weekend because of Mardi Gras. I can't wait!!!

Weekend Wrap Up
What a fun weekend! As I told you before this was opening weekend for LSU Baseball. The weather was great! I can't remember a season opener where the weather was this good. Usually, we're all bundled up. It was great to sit there Friday night with jeans & short sleeve shirt on! LSU swept Wake Forest so that was good too.
Saturday was pretty much non-stop. I started my day with Yogalates then it was home to shower & get dressed. I went & had my nails done & while I was there I decided to have a pedi. I was sitting in the chair reading my Nook, having my feet rubbed & another guy was painting my fingernails. It was delightful! Afterwards, it was off to our Godchild Lane's, birthday party. He was 5 on Friday. I don't know where the time goes. His party was at a jump place & all the kids seem to have fun. Somehow I managed to forget my camera so no pics of the kiddos. Once the party was over I went to Mass & then home to get Dean. He'd gone to the game. We went to meet our friends Paul & Niki & their little girl Charli for dinner. We went to La Carreta. It was really good. Apparently, all that running around wore me out because I went to sleep at 8:30 Saturday night. I was in bed reading & I couldn't keep my eyes open!
Sunday I managed to get some stuff done around the house. I cleaned out the drawers in my night stand. I can't remember the last time I did that & I had a ton of crap to get rid of. YAY!! Snapfish was having a great deal over the weekend, 100 prints for $5.00 including shipping. I had a ton of pictures I've been wanting to print I just hadn't taken the time to do it so now that's done. We went to the LSU game. It was nice being outside. The game was well in hand in the 8th inning so we left & went to the movie. We saw Just Go With It. I LOVED it!!! It was really funny. I've always loved Jennifer Anniston. I definitely recommend the movie. Afterwards, we ate at California Pizza Kitchen. We've never eaten there & I'd been wanting to try it. I really, really liked it. I love having a fun, busy weekend but I swear it feels like I just left work & now I'm back. UGH! Hopefully, the week will go by fast. What did everyone do this weekend?

I definitely recommend the movie. Afterwards, we ate at California Pizza Kitchen. We've never eaten there & I'd been wanting to try it. I really, really liked it. I love having a fun, busy weekend but I swear it feels like I just left work & now I'm back. UGH! Hopefully, the week will go by fast. What did everyone do this weekend?

Thursday Ramblings...
Soooo glad it's Thursday. Although, I really wish it was Friday. This weekend is going to be a busy one. The LSU Baseball season opener is Friday night. Saturday, I'm going to our Godchild Lane's, birthday party followed by another LSU game Sunday. This is the first time in a really long time that the weather is going to be great for opening weekend. We've been in the 70's all week & that's supposed to continue!
Yesterday, was my 7th Yogalates class. I don't know if I've mentioned but each Monday the "routine" changes. You're still working all your muscles but the exercises are a little different. For example, we always do some sort of push ups. Last week you could do regular ones or "girl" ones. This week is these things they call "cricket". While you're doing the push up you bend a knee & stick it out to the side. I don't know if that makes any sense but it's the best I can come up with. These things are HARD. Especially, being that I can barely do a regular pushup. There's different ab work than the previous weeks & the leg work is different. It definitely keeps class from getting boring. I'm also excited to report that despite my questionable eating over the weekend I did manage to lose a pound last week. Yes, I know it's nothing to go crazy over but I ate, wasn't starving & I lost SOMETHING. I'm very excited.
I FINALLY remembered to use this the other day.
I've used it 3 days & I really like it. My skin definitely feels cleaner & softer. A tube of Olay exfoliater comes with it too. It seems to be pretty gentle. It seems like my makeup is going on smoother but I could just be imagining that.

What Was That About Karma??
LSU lost. They're done. They didn't just lose Saturday night, they lost Sunday too. They had their chances both games. It just wasn't meant to be I guess. At least this didn't cost us any additional money. Today they lost to Irvine. Yep, the Tigers lost to a bunch of Anteaters. That's one of the great things about baseball, anyone can beat anyone else any given day.
Aside from the 2 losses we had a great weekend. Last night we went to friends to watch the game & today Lydia, Logan & my mom came over. We spent the afternoon in the pool. The water has cooled down some because we had almost 6 inches of rain this week. It was 88 degrees today which is perfect! When Logan wasn't eating I think he really enjoyed the pool. He ate those puff things, then those puff cheetos, then we figured out that maybe he'd like some lunch so he had some turkey, rice & gravy, green beans & carrots. He ate all this in the pool. I guess you could say we had a little picnic. Not a conventional one but picnic nonetheless. After he finished that he ate more puffs & cheetos. After that he caught sight of the container that his rice & gravy was in & he wanted more. I guess you can tell he's got some coonass blood, he loves that gravy!!! There wasn't any left so into the house we went & he had a piece of toast. I guess we should've given him the bread sooner so he can learn to sop but I didn't think about it. Next time.
I took pictures but they're still on my camera. I'll post some later.
That's all for now.

Karma's a B!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!! What a game they played last night! It was a little too stressful for me but finally in the bottom of the 11th with 2 outs & 2 strikes they won! What's that mean?? According to Irvine's Coach, Gillepsie, "it was bad karma". Yeh, you know what they say about Karma. It also means we play UCLA tonight at 8:00. It's going to be a late night. We watched yesterday next door at Cliff & Sheri's & tonight we'll be down the street at Jackie & Dennis'.
After the game we set up for the garage sale. Sheri was having one & invited us to put stuff in it. After all the rain yesterday & the forecast of more today, I was having second thoughts. The thought of getting up at 5:30 surely didn't help matters. I sucked it up & I'm glad I did. I made $170 & got rid of some stuff. Thanks Janice! She showed up & started pointing at stuff saying "I'm getting that"! She bought a couple of watches & when my friend told her that they all work, they just need batteries her response was "OH I don't need batteries, I just wear them"!! Soooo funny!! She went to get the lady she works for because she didn't bring enough money with her. When we helped load her car we also realized that she needed the ladies car because hers was full! Apparently, we weren't her first garage sale of the day! There was a brief moment when I felt a little guilty that I may be contributing to a hoarder but what can you do?
Speaking of karma, I'll remind them of this one day when they have a bad little boy!!!
Not to change the subject but I found out that McDreamy is in town & has been spotted at Whole Foods & Sullivan's! He's here, along with Ashley Judd, filming a movie. I've got people working on finding out where he's staying. Oh how I would love to take a picture with him.
We're off to watch the game. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

This is Dean on pool duty.
We thought it would be a good idea to have someone in charge of making sure nobody drowned. There was only one close call. Eddie was very interested in the pool & he didn't listen very well. When his mom wasn't trying a purple wig on him, he managed to break an exercise bike. We were happy to see Eddie go. These two had to go inside because they couldn't control themselves & were laughing at how bad he was.

It's Almost Friday
It's Thursday. Wooo Hooo!!! That means tomorrow is Friday! Aside from that there isn't much happening. I'm home alone tonight. Dean is at the LSU game. I haven't gone to a mid week game all season & I saw no reason to break my streak. Especially being that they lost again Tuesday night. And to Tulane no less. Completely unacceptable. This is the last regular season series. A few years ago they started playing the last series Thurs.-Sat. rather than Fri.-Sun. because the SEC tournament starts Wed. This gives them an extra day to play with in case of rain. I will go tomorrow night & Sat. afternoon. Chances are it's the last home games of the season. Post season at The Box used to be a given but not anymore & certainly not when you're fighting your way into the SEC tourney. Anyway, that's what we'll be doing Fri. & Sat.
I had visitors at work today. Wendy brought Emily to the office to meet everyone & visit.

Isn't she cute?? I caught her mid yawn!! I was excited to see her awake. The last couple of times I've seen her she's been fast asleep. I held her for awhile & then they went home & the rest of my day was boring.
When I got home I had these blooms on my Hibiscus.
You can see a couple of Knock Out Rose blooms too.
This morning when I left I saw I had 2 buds & they were wide open this afternoon. I love them!

Could It Be??
YES it's RAINING!!! I can't believe it. It's actually raining!!! We haven't had any rain in weeks. Actually, I think it's been a couple of months. So far today we've had 3 showers. We need more but it's certainly better than nothing. Dean & I spent the morning in the yard. I pulled a lot of weeds & Dean dug up some of the gazillion purple irises that we have. There were some areas that they had completely overtaken. I feel like I did about a million squats! Hopefully, I'll be able to walk tomorrow.
Last night I spent the evening with Amelia-Ann.
Her parents had a function to go to so she decided to stay with us. Dean was listening to the LSU game so me & A-A went to dinner. We went to DeAngelo's & had pizza. It was sooo good! The slices are huge! We each ate half a slice so we could go to Cold Stone for dessert!
Tonight we're going to Scott & Lydia's for a crawfish boil. Friends are in town from Florida so not only do we get to see little Logan, we get to meet little miss Leah for the first time. I'm also looking forward to the Fudgesicle daiquiri! They're soooo good!!!
While I type this we're watching the LSU game on TV. It's not good. It's the 4th inning & they're losing 4-1 & have given up 2 HR's this inning. I have a new philosophy since they've been on this skid. If they're not going to make it to Omaha, I'd rather them not host a regional. My theory is if they host it just cost us money & takes up pool time. I don't want to spend money to watch them lose. I'd just rather the season end & I'll float around the pool those 2 weekends in June that would otherwise be spent sweating at that place they're calling The Box.
I'm off to fix my hair. We're leaving soon.
Toodles for now!!!

Saturday with the Kiddos
I had every intention of going out to dinner tonight BUT it's not happening. Dean got home from the golf tournament earlier than he expected but neither one of us feel like changing clothes to go anywhere. Yeh, I know, that's lazy.
LSU just lost for the second time today. They ended up getting rained out last night & they had to finish the game today. That's 6 losses in a row. That hasn't happened at LSU since 1982. Talk radio is going to be lively this week!
This morning I got up & went to Allison's. I played with Cael for a little bit & then Allison & I went to visit Emily. She's so cute & tiny. She's 2 weeks old now.
We had a nice visit with Wendy. We were able to break down Real Housewives of NY. We're all in agreement that we aren't Team Jill & we're VERY excited about New Jersey starting Monday night. Here's another pic of Emily. She's so sweet!
After hanging out with Wendy & Emily I dropped Allison off & went home. My mom & Logan came over. Lydia & Scott brought some friends to their camp this weekend so Logan is staying with all his grandparents. We played for a long time. We had a little incident as well. Logan took off to the kitchen & I was putting my flip flops on. Before I could get in the kitchen I heard a crash. Me & mama both took off. I couldn't imagine what it could be. Well, he'd opened one of my cabinets & pulled out my "tea for one" set. He was also very interested in the fireplace tools. I had to put them in our bedroom & close the door. The flip flops had to go there too because he was chewing on them! HAHAHA!! We went outside for awhile, which he loves, but it's really muggy today so we came in & had a snack.

Logan also likes magazines. I had a stack on the coffee table that he enjoyed playing with. Of course they weren't on the coffee table for long.
Dean came home in time to see Logan too.
How sweet is this??

How I Met Dean
Kelly at Kelly's Korner does "Show Us Your Life" on Fridays. This week is how you met your hubby. A little background, I'm an LSU Baseball fan. I've gone to the games since 1994 & have had season tickets since 1995.
Normally, each season my friends & I went on at lease one road trip for baseball. In 1998 me & my friends Jill & Vicki went to Austin for the 3 game series with the University of Texas. Vicki's sister & nieces went with us too. We always tried to stay at the team hotel since LSU travels extremely well it's a lot of fun to be where everyone was. This was a Ramada Inn & it wasn't the nicest of places. Not a dump but not on par with the usual places we stayed. It was February 20, 1998. Vicki, her sister & nieces went out to dinner. For whatever reason, Jill & I decided that we weren't very hungry & just felt like a little something so we were going to get takeout from somewhere. To this day I really don't know why we chose to do that. We never did anything like that!!! We ended up calling Chili's & ordering brocoli & cheese soup to go. Yep, I still remember. That would be one of those useless things that I never forget. The hotel had a good lobby. By good, I mean there were sofas & chairs & it was close to the front desk. People were just hanging out & visiting & the players were roaming around. We started talking to "some guy" who we started referring to as "2:00". More on that later. This same guy had asked us earlier in the day where the Catholic Church was. Of course being in a strange city & not being Catholic at the time, we had no idea. We thought that he was obviously a good guy since he was looking for a Church when he was on a road trip. Anyway, after we ate our soup we sat in the lobby & ended up talking to him. He told us stories from his road trips & we told him stories of ours. We ended up hanging out in the lobby until 2:00 am (hence his new nickname). This was back in the day when I could stay up later than 9:30, get up early & function without taking a nap. Thinking back I don't know how I did it. This was also back in the day when we gave EVERYONE a nickname. God forbid someone overhear us talking about someone. This way we just sounded like complete morons referring to 2:00, Tootie, Snoop & various other weird things. We saw Dean again the next couple of days & he invited us to come tailgate the next weekend when we were back at home. From that point on we were together.
We started dating in March of '98 & got engaged on Christmas Day '02. Yeh, that's a really long time to date. Especially when 30 was quickly approaching!!! We were married October 4, 2003 (25 days before I turned 30) and the rest is history!!!

Why Don't We Work 2 Days & Have A 5 Day Weekend?????
Sunday is here. Of course you know what that means. Tomorrow is Monday. Yuck! Whoever came up with this work 5 days & be off 2 needs to be shot. This weekend wasn't a busy one which I guess is a good thing. I got a lot of rest. Friday night we went to the LSU game. They lost. I think that was the first game this season that I stayed the entire 9 innings. I'm wondering if I jinxed them. Baseball people are very superstitious you know. After the game we were talking with friends & I was able to try on this.
This is the 2009 National Championship ring the LSU Baseball team got. It's HUGE!!!!!
Saturday, I planned to go the game but the closer it got to gametime the more it looked like it was going to storm. I was not sitting in the rain. Been there done that & it's not happening again! I decided to take a nap. 4 hours later I woke up. Yep, I said 4 hours. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that BUT I figure if I slept that long I must have needed it. When I got up it was time to go to our friends Dennis & Jackie's. Luckily, they live 2 houses down so there's no travel time. Our old neighbors moved to New Mexico last year & their 3 girls were in town for spring break. We were getting together to visit with them because they were going home today. The game was on TV so we watched the end. They won. I wasn't there, hmmm.
I just realized that all the good pictures we took aren't on my camera. This is Sarah, Allie, Amelia-Ann, Emily & Alli. Sarah, Emily & Alli are the girls that live in N.M. I really miss them. They're so sweet & they were always around. It's been hard to get used to someone else living in their house. Especially because we never see the new people! We were there along with 3 other houses on our street. The evening quickly turned into a vacation planning meeting. The 3900 Crew (that's what the teenagers came up with last time we went to Disney since all of our addresses are 3900 something) is planning a December trip to Disney. I'm very very excited! I love Disney & Universal!!!
This was the men giving their 2 cents on the trip. They had lots of opinions.
You can tell by the look on Sheri's face that this was one of the ridiculous suggestions one of the men had. Amelia-Ann set them straight real quick! She too had an opinion!!
Today I taught Sunday School. I just never know what I'm going to get. There was the week that the little boy told me he didn't have a mom because she died & this week I had a grandma tell me that if her "soon to be former son in law" was to show up I was not to let him take his little girl. No biggie there, you just say if you didn't sign the kid in you can't sign them out. If he gives me too much trouble I've got secret service across the hall because the Governor's little boy is in the 5 yr. old class. Nana proceeds to tell me that her daughter is going through a very, very bad divorce & she's getting a restraining order tomorrow. This particular kid always gives me problems. She's very outspoken & doesn't have a shy bone in her body & she also doesn't listen well. Today was really bad. I just keep thinking that maybe her behavior is her trying to get attention due to the situation at home. Who knows. At the end of class the kids play & I was attempting to get them to pick up the toys by saying that "mama's & daddy's would be there soon". The little girl says to me "My nana is picking me up. My mom isn't feeling well AGAIN. She's sick AGAIN. Sick sick sick. My daddy can't come because the policeman said he can't come around because my daddy says he's going to kill people". OK, Child Psychologist I am not, BUT WTH???? Why oh why would you tell or let your kid hear that??? I think this is just the beginning of lots of issues.
After Sunday School I did our grocery shopping & I'm listening to the game. Nope, I didn't go again because today is FREEZING & the wind is blowing AGAIN at about 50 mph! I was so excited thinking spring was here. Well so much for that. At 10:30 last night when we came home it was like 70 degrees & at 6:30 this morning when we left for Mass it was 38!!!! Supposedly, it's supposed to be warm again Tuesday. We shall see!! I hope everyone had a good weekend & has a good week!
Toodles!!
