I said last week that I think I've hit a plateau. Well, I'm happy to say I've lost 2 pounds this week. YAY! Although, I'm not getting overly excited. I feel like I've gained & lost this 2 pounds for awhile now. Let's see if I can keep it off & lose a little more in the upcoming week. I've already gone to Yogalates twice this week & I'll be leaving shortly for class. I plan to go tomorrow too. I ran Monday & this morning. The weather was better today than Monday. Not nearly as much humidity or it was cooler or something. I did get a "side stitch" today. I had to do (2) 10 minute runs with a 3 minute walk in between. The stitch hit me about 7 minutes into the first run. I made it through but was worried I wouldn't be able to finish the second run. I used the 3 minute walk for some deep breathing which I keep hearing is good & was able to complete the last 10 minutes without a problem. My next run is Friday morning & it's a 25 min run with no walking. Wish me luck. If anyone has any tips on the whole stitch thing I'd love to hear them. From everything I've read it's all about your diaphragm & breathing. I read something about not landing on the same foot every time. I have no idea how you go about fixing that & I'm not about to try. That's waaaayyyy too much thinking for me. I'm lucky I can breathe.
Not much of a post but I have to note this stuff or I won't stay motivated. Not to mention there's nothing else going on this week.

Weigh In Thursday
I didn't have time to blog yesterday. I gained a pound this week. No surprise there. We ate & drank in Dallas. There was BBQ & lots of Mexican food. I even indulged in a 3 Musketeers on the way home. There aren't a lot of healthy snacks at the convenience store in the middle of nowhere. (They didn't even sell lottery tickets). I do get credit because all they had was a 2 pack of full size bars & I only ate 1. Yay me! Small victories people.
I've done well with my exercising this week. Tuesday & Wednesday I went to Yogalates & I'm going again this afternoon. Yesterday morning I got up at 5:00 when Dean got up & I went for my run. It was Day 2 of Week 4 of C25K. We've been having great weather this week. It's been in the 50's in the mornings. It was so great to run & not feel like I was suffocating because of the temp & humidity. This week is alternating 3 & 5 minute runs. 5 minutes is hard. 3 minutes was hard last week so I'm hoping by tomorrow 5 will be easier. I'm planning to do another 5 am run in the morning. Next week each day is different & the week ends with a 20 min. run. I'm nervous just thinking about it.
Between the exercise & the weight loss I seem to have much more energy than I did before. I was out the door a little after 6:30 this morning & was able to run by the grocery store & pick up some things before going to work.
I'm having my CT scan Friday afternoon. I'm not thrilled about this because they put an IV in so that they can put some contrast something or other in. I've said before, not a fan of needles when veins are involved. Another issue with the scan is that because of this contrast stuff I have to fast for 3 hours prior to the test. They said it can make me sick if I've eaten. I can handle the no food. A lot of the time I don't eat an afternoon snack. The test is at 2:30 so I'll just have to eat an early lunch. The problem comes in with the no drink part. That's going to be awful. I ALWAYS have a drink. These days it's water most of the time. I'm going to have to hide my cup so I don't accidentally fix a drink. I'm already planning to reward myself with a Sonic Dr. Pepper after the test. Which, incidentally, brings me to another issue. There's an ugly rumor going around that Sonic is doing away with their styrofoam cups. NOT GOOD SONIC!!! Apparently, in the Baton Rouge area they've already started this. At one location you can request a styrofoam cup but I don't know if that's forever or just until they run out of cups. I'll find out more Friday & report back.
I just had a wonderful surprise! Wendy brought me a green tea from Starbucks. She's working a later schedule today so she stopped on her way in. THANKS WENDY!!! You read my mind!! The only thing that would make this stuff better is a styrofoam cup.
That's all for now, not much happening this week.

Weigh In Thursday!
Down .4 this week. No real surprise considering my social calendar last weekend but a loss is a loss. Yesterday, when I got to Yogalates these things were all over the floor.

It's a kettle ball apparently. It weighs 6 lbs. We've never used equipment so I didn't know where we were going with this. I soon found out.....push ups. Then we did some twist thingy's with them. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting.
I've completed the first 2 days of week 1 of C25K. I have a date with my friend Cindy tonight to do day 3 which completes the first week. Monday, I did it at 5:00 & it was HOT! The heat index was still over 100. We're going later tonight & hopefully it won't be as hot. If anyone is planning to start this make sure you stretch A LOT before & after. Several people gave me that advice & it's worked well in keeping me from being really sore & getting shin splints.
Some of you may remember that I went to the Dr. for a swollen lymph node. He'd told me if it didn't shrink in a week to call him. Well, I waited 2 weeks & it's still swollen. He referred me to an ENT. I went Monday. She put me on an antibiotic for 2 weeks & a week of steroids. I have to see her again in 2 weeks & if it hasn't gotten smaller or softer she'll "stick a needle in it". Ugh! I don't like needles. Especially, when they're stuck in my neck. Anyway, I haven't been able to sleep since Dean left. I wake up a lot during the night. Well, combine that with the steroids & it's awful. I normally don't have this problem with the oral steroids but I can't think of any other reason that I wasn't sleepy until 10:30 last night when my normal bedtime is 9:30 at the latest & I was wide awake from 2-4:15. Needless to say I'm not feeling real perky this morning. I was moving slowly so there was no time for a Starbuck's run either. So annoying.

Countdown!!!
We leave for the beach Friday & it can't get here soon enough. I cannot wait to lay around & do absolutely nothing!!
Yesterday, Allison & I met to walk the lakes. We hadn't gone in 2 weeks. Everyone's been busy on the weekends & yesterday was no different so we met at 7:00 am. We also thought it would be cooler. Yeh right. It was 80 & really humid.
I had a ton of errands to run. Allison & I made plans to meet up for lunch & then a little shoe shopping. One of my first stops was Super Walmart. I went about 2 years without setting foot in a Super Walmart. I just hate that store. However, I needed to pick something up & I knew they had it & it was convenient so off I went. Want to know what that something was????
It's a CD. Yes, I know I need to move into the 21st century & just download stuff to the iPod on my iPhone but my Expedition is 7 years old & doesn't have an iPod hookup but it does have a 6 disc CD changer. Besides, this came with a DVD & a poster. I didn't know about the poster but when I saw it I told Dean I was going to hang it by our bed. He wasn't amused. HAHA!!! So, of course as soon as I get in the car I put the CD in so I can enjoy the boys while I deal with traffic. Yeh, not happening. I had 6 CD's in the changer so I ejected 1 & when I went to load the new CD it was stuck halfway in & out. Lovely. I got it out but the other 5 weren't moving. Not only would they not move, none of them would play. Great. We're only a few weeks away from trading in the Expedition so of course it decides to break now. Dean spent a lot of time today working on it. Those CD's are NOT coming out but he did get them to play. Someone, whether it's a mechanic at the car dealership or a new owner of my Expedition, is going to have quite a surprise when the CD's finally come out. There are 2 NKOTB, Fuel, Britney Spears & a religious one. HAHA! Nobody can say I don't like a variety of music.
I'd bought a Groupon a few weeks ago for a little store in the mall. I went to spend it yesterday. They had some cute stuff. I got this top.
Last week Wendy, Allison & I were looking at makeup on Sephora's website & we found some stuff on sale. It came in Friday & I love it. It has pretty much every color eye shadow I could ever need & probably some that I don't!
It has eye shadow, lip gloss, eye liner, blush & bronzer. It's got a great mirror & that black compact looking thing is to interchange the shadows & blush to take with you when you can't bring the whole thing.
Allison & I met at McAllisters for lunch. It was delish. Afterwards, we headed to my favorite store, Shoe Station. UGH! I was so disappointed. I didn't find anything. That NEVER happens. Allison didn't find anything either. We were both looking for a taupe/light tan pair. We headed over to Kohl's since it practically shares a parking lot with Shoe Station. Look what we found!
Cute huh? We each got a pair. We decided to check out DSW just in case we found something we liked better. Everything we saw wasn't as cute & cost more so I think we did good. I did find something in the little clearance room in the back of the store. I've always been lucky in that little area. I got these.
These look black but they're dark brown. I love them & they're actually comfortable! While I was shopping Dean was crabbing with his dad. Once we both got home we went & had dinner at Monjuni's. It's one of my favorite Italian restaurants. They always do Groupon & Living Social too so that's nice.
Today we worked in the yard awhile & then cooled off in the pool. If you want to call it that. The water was a tad warmer than ideal. I managed to catch up on the Housewives & then went to Yogalates this afternoon. I never go on Sunday's but I really enjoyed it. I may make it a habit.
I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Soooo Embarrassed!
I'm all about full disclosure on this whole exercise/weight loss thing I'm trying to do. That being said, I gained a pound this week. I'm frustrated. Not so much that I'm going to give up but just a little frustrated. I'm blaming it on the weekend although I didn't eat bad. Maybe it was that 32 oz. daiquiri?? Anyway, lots of the things I've read talk about plateaus & how you need to switch things up. So that's what I did. I added a 4th Yogalates class this week. Not only did I do 4 classes this week but I went 4 days in a row. So, I get to class yesterday & there is a camera & extra people hanging around. When I say camera, I don't mean a little digital, I mean a TV CAMERA! WTH??? My first thought was that they were finishing up. Several LSU football players take Yogalates & there have been segments on the local news about it. I thought this was one of those. Not so much. It was a local TV station & one of the reporters was going to take our class while another guy filmed. They're doing a segment on the morning show about "Extreme Workouts". Those people that know me personally would've never expected me to workout much less do something EXTREME! Well, I definitely thought about leaving but I was there so I just got my little spot in the corner as far away from the camera as possible. It never occurred to me that the guy would walk around with the camera filming. Let me tell you nothing screws up your concentration on a move like when you look up & a camera is a foot from your face. At this point I'm just praying that I end up on the editing room floor & if I don't maybe nobody will recognize me. UGH!!!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

It's Friday Friday!
Has anyone else heard that stupid song?? It gets in your head & not in a good way. Everytime I hear someone say Friday I think of it. UGH! It's been a rather dull week. I guess in some ways that's good. Dull means nothing bad happened.
I done my 3 Yogalates classes this week. Monday I was really excited because the teacher has been cracking the back door & I managed to grab a spot right in front of it. SO AWESOME because of the fabulous breeze. For those of you that don't know, they like it to be around 90 degrees for these classes. Something about less risk of injury to your muscles. I'm waiting for the day someone passes out & I just hope it's not me! I have a fainting history but that's another story. So Tuesday, I grabbed my spot again but it was only 86 in class so she didn't open the door. Bummer. Yesterday, we had a fill in teacher. I had this chick for the first time last week. She's not my favorite. She talks A LOT. So much so that sometimes she loses count. Well, yesterday was "cooler" outside than it's been lately. It was in the low 80's I think. Inside it was only 84 so not only did she not crack the door, she TURNED THE HEAT ON! Throughout the workout she kept asking how everyone was doing & then telling us how great she felt. I'm glad she's not the regular teacher.
I really wanted to take today off & get up early & watch all the Royal Wedding festivities but my co-worker was off & one of us needs to be in the office. I'm not having a good hair day due to the fact that I kept turning off the blow dryer to watch & hear what was going on. My hair dried kinda funky. Then I was almost late. Anyway, I thought Kate was gorgeous. I loved her dress & really loved Pippa's dress. I've been looking at all sorts of pics on the internet today.
Tonight, we'll be going to the LSU Baseball game. They've actually won twice this week. I wasn't at either game & I fully expect them to go back to their losing ways tonight. We'll see.
Tomorrow is our annual "Boil on the Bend". It's a neighborhood crawfish boil. We live in a big subdivision but we're in the very back & our street along with another street, Morgan Bend, meet in a cul de sac which is where the crawfish eating happens. Hence the name "Boil on the Bend". This is just something that a few of the neighbors put together for our area of the subd. There's a space walk for the kids & lots of food. It's always a lot of fun. These will be my first crawfish of the season.
Allison, Wendy & I plan to walk the lakes in the morning too. On that note, I lost another 2 lbs. I weigh myself on Wednesdays. My thought is that I usually do really good during the week but we generally go out to eat at least once a weekend so if I mess up a little I have a couple of days to get back on track so I don't get discouraged when I get on the scale. So far so good.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Any fun plans?

Random Ramblings
I need to clear something up. I was not drunk when I wrote the last post nor was I drunk when we had the discussion Friday night. I had one glass of wine.
Does anyone remember the Sweet Valley High books? I read all of these when I was a teenager. I loved them. Well, there's a new one that came out today. It's called Sweet Valley Confidential: Ten Years Later. The book is set 10 yrs. after Elizabeth & Jessica graduated from high school. I've read quite a bit of it today & I really like it so far.
We did about 10,000 squats & push ups yesterday at Yogalates. Today, I'm sore.
There was a girl at Yogalates wearing a NKOTB tank top. That made me smile.
Saturday, I did absolutely nothing all day. I laid out by the pool & I floated around the pool. My back & the back of my legs are a lovely shade of red.
Maybe my exercising & trying to eat right are doing some good. Today I craved grapes.
I just finished reading Vision in White by Nora Roberts. This was the first of a series about 4 best friends. The girls run a wedding planning business. I really enjoyed it. This was the 35th book I've read this year.
It rained this afternoon. That's a good thing. Hopefully, it will bring some relief to my allergies.

Thursday Ramblings...
Soooo glad it's Thursday. Although, I really wish it was Friday. This weekend is going to be a busy one. The LSU Baseball season opener is Friday night. Saturday, I'm going to our Godchild Lane's, birthday party followed by another LSU game Sunday. This is the first time in a really long time that the weather is going to be great for opening weekend. We've been in the 70's all week & that's supposed to continue!
Yesterday, was my 7th Yogalates class. I don't know if I've mentioned but each Monday the "routine" changes. You're still working all your muscles but the exercises are a little different. For example, we always do some sort of push ups. Last week you could do regular ones or "girl" ones. This week is these things they call "cricket". While you're doing the push up you bend a knee & stick it out to the side. I don't know if that makes any sense but it's the best I can come up with. These things are HARD. Especially, being that I can barely do a regular pushup. There's different ab work than the previous weeks & the leg work is different. It definitely keeps class from getting boring. I'm also excited to report that despite my questionable eating over the weekend I did manage to lose a pound last week. Yes, I know it's nothing to go crazy over but I ate, wasn't starving & I lost SOMETHING. I'm very excited.
I FINALLY remembered to use this the other day.
I've used it 3 days & I really like it. My skin definitely feels cleaner & softer. A tube of Olay exfoliater comes with it too. It seems to be pretty gentle. It seems like my makeup is going on smoother but I could just be imagining that.

Random Hump Day!
It's Wednesday & that means Yogalates! I can't say that I'm excited about it but I do look forward to it a little so that's something right? I've been eating pretty good this week too. Hopefully, that will continue.
I bought this thing Sunday at CVS.
I use the term buy loosely because technically it was free! HA! I had CVS Extra Bucks & coupons. I've seen lots of people talking about the Clarisonic but with the price tag on that thing there was no way I was buying it. I saw the Olay one in the paper & it's only $30. Affordable even if you don't have coupons. Has anyone tried it? Olay claims it works just as well as the Clarisonic. I haven't tried it yet because I keep forgetting. Hopefully, I'll remember tonight.
Today's another beautiful day. Yes, that's sarcasm. It's cold, cloudy & going to start raining this afternoon. I'm soooo over the weather. I'm ready for pretty days & pool water warm enough to get in!
I finished a couple more books in the last week. The first one was How I Learned to Love the Walrus

I've read another book by Beth Orsoff & really, really liked it. It was called Romantically Challenged. This Walrus one wasn't as good as that one but it was cute & it was only $2.99 on the Nook so I really can't complain. The other book I finished is Stash.
This one started out great. I was able to get interested in it right away & it didn't take long before something happened to really get you into the story. However, it didn't continue that way. There were like 3 or 4 main characters & they were all involved with the same story line but the way the author went from one to the other seemed choppy to me. I don't know how to explain it but suffice it to say I don't recommend this one. Luckily, this came from the free book pile at work that my friend Wendy has access to. Currently, I'm reading Kisser by Stuart Woods.
This is the 17th book in the Stone Barrington series. I really love these books. They're murder mysteries but always good. They don't have to be read in order either.
I guess I've been random enough for one day. Have a good Wednesday!

I'm Not Dead...
Today was my first Yogalates class & I'm still alive!!! Can you tell I'm very excited about this? What's even better is that I never even felt like I was going to die! The class wasn't easy but I did it. There were a couple of times that I couldn't do all the reps but considering it was my first time I think I did really good. My friend Sheri has been going for 3 weeks & she'll still can't do it all so I did well to keep up. I don't love it like my friends do but they didn't love it at first either so I'm still hopeful. My next class will be Friday. After going to this first class I can see a Friday class could be problematic for my social life. See, class went fine BUT there was a lot of sweating. You could've taken my picture & put it in the dictionary under "Hot Mess". It was bad. Slicked back hair & all. Oh well. Nobody was looking at me. Back to it being problematic. We go out to eat on Friday nights. I guess you can say it's our thing. So, I'll have to come home shower & fix my hair & makeup. By the time I do all that we won't be leaving the house until 8:00. I'll have to figure that out.
Something else that was really great about the class was that I didn't want to eat when I got home. Not a big meal anyway. I ate a bowl of cheerios. I'm thinking I'll sleep really good tonight too.
I am a little concerned that I won't be able to get out of bed in the morning. We'll see how that goes.
So, all in all, I call the first class a success!!
Now I'm going lay on the sofa & read my book!!!
