Weigh In Wednesday!

This week Weigh In Wednesday comes to you from the sofa in my sitting room. I'm home sick. UGH! This is not the week that I need to be sick. I have plans people!! Today was supposed to be my 3rd Yogalates workout this week because I can't go tomorrow because I have a long overdue hair appt. Looks like it's just going to be a 2 class week. I hate that because it makes it harder when I go back. Oh well, some things can't be helped.

Last night I was feeling a touch of a sore throat coming on. I woke up at 12:30 & my throat felt raw. Great. I got up & took a Benadryl. I knew after taking that there was no way I could go to work. I also used some Chloraseptic which is apparently past it's good by date because it numbed my throat for all of about 2 seconds. Great. How am I going to be able to scream at the NKOTB concert if I have a sore throat???? It's a quandary for sure.

So back to the point of this post. I lost 2.2 pounds this week!! Woot Woot!! I'm so excited because I did indulge in Lydia's mac & cheese & I'll admit I did have a little of it for supper last night. Not to mention the key lime pie & strawberry delight from Sunday. I guess it's true what they say about moderation. There's leftover key lime pie in my fridge & I haven't touched it since the one small slice I had Sunday. Yay me!

I'm off to finish catching up with Kardashians & napping.

Random Ramblings

I need to clear something up. I was not drunk when I wrote the last post nor was I drunk when we had the discussion Friday night. I had one glass of wine.

Does anyone remember the Sweet Valley High books? I read all of these when I was a teenager. I loved them. Well, there's a new one that came out today. It's called Sweet Valley Confidential: Ten Years Later. The book is set 10 yrs. after Elizabeth & Jessica graduated from high school. I've read quite a bit of it today & I really like it so far.

We did about 10,000 squats & push ups yesterday at Yogalates. Today, I'm sore.

There was a girl at Yogalates wearing a NKOTB tank top. That made me smile.

Saturday, I did absolutely nothing all day. I laid out by the pool & I floated around the pool. My back & the back of my legs are a lovely shade of red.

Maybe my exercising & trying to eat right are doing some good. Today I craved grapes.

I just finished reading Vision in White by Nora Roberts. This was the first of a series about 4 best friends. The girls run a wedding planning business. I really enjoyed it. This was the 35th book I've read this year.

It rained this afternoon. That's a good thing. Hopefully, it will bring some relief to my allergies.

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!

Why am I so excited?? WE HAVE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK TICKETS!!! WOOO HOOOO! You'd think with this being the 8th time I've seen them live in person I wouldn't be so excited. You would be wrong. I'm so excited! When we saw them a few years ago I thought it was the last time I'd ever see them & now BOOM touring with Back Street Boys. I don't care so much about the BSB. I like their songs but as for seeing them in concert, I could take them or leave them. I'm all about NKOTB. It's just like back in the day when I was in high school, we got the tickets & then we had to wait 6 months for the show. June 24, 2011 me & my peeps will be in Lafayette!!!

If you were behind me in line today at Hob Lob I do apologize. I might have been there returning a few things. Well, maybe more than just a few. See, I had all of those wreaths to make so I had to buy a bunch of stuff. I have a hard time visualizing just how much stuff I need so I figured it would be better to buy more & return later. I may have over estimated just a tad. Like $55 worth & that was with half off!

I was planning on doing my Christmas cards today. That's not going to happen. Why you ask???
This is why. See those doors? That would be where the cards are. I'm not thinking Dean will be too inclined to move all that stuff just for cards. We will see. Generally after I do the Christmas decorating all the boxes go back in the attic. We decided that it's a lot easier to put them in the LSU room because nobody goes in there anyway. If you don't get a card from us, don't be offended. Just keeping it real here!

Another One Bites The Dust!

It's Sunday night again & I'm blogging while listening to Dean snore. Where has the weekend gone? Yes, I know it's 9:30 which is technically past my bedtime but I just don't want to go to sleep because then the weekend will officially be over. sigh...

We had a low key weekend which normally I like but after having such a busy few weeks I kinda missed all the stuff going on. Friday night Dean & I had dinner at Zea's. They had a special summer menu. I refrained from my normal selection of some sort of fried seafood & ordered the Aegan Trout. OMG soooooo good!! It was grilled & had tomatoes, olives, almonds & feta cheese & was served with fresh snap beans. DELICIOUS!! I didn't eat it all either so I get to enjoy the tasty goodness again at lunch tomorrow.

Saturday I spent the day at my mom's. I still had some stuff in the top of the closet in my old room so we got all that down & went through it. WOW, the stuff I've kept. I got rid of a bunch but there was a bunch I couldn't part with. Why I don't know, but I couldn't. I'm hoping some of my friends with little girls will take some of it off my hands. Hint hint Wendy! When I got home & told Dean, he made a comment about me being just like my daddy & rolled his eyes. I guess he just doesn't understand my attachment to my New Kids On The Block dolls.

Amelia-Ann came over to show me her ribbons she won in her horse show & we got in the pool & played awhile. Then it started lightening. Why does it have to do that if it has no intention of raining??? We got a few drops & that was it.

Today was a really lazy day. It was raining when we got up. We went to 7:00 Mass & grocery shopping & I took a little nap. I spent the afternoon catching up on the DVR. I don't know why I say "catching up", I don't think that will ever happen but I watched the stuff I need to watch so I can discuss with Wendy & Allison.

Hangin' Tough

After work today I went & had my nails done. It was time for a new set & it took forever. I'm not sure why but i was there almost 2 hours! The people are really nice so it was ok. I saw the little lady that sits in front of me at Mass every week. She was "working" there. I say "working" because she told me she had no idea what she was doing but the guys asked her to come help out because someone called in sick. She's really funny!

Mike, the guy that did my nails, is a joke teller. To me the funniest joke is that this Vietnamese guy that barely speaks english goes by Mike!!! He told jokes, I laughed. It was much better than sitting there listening to them speak to each other in their language. Then a cute little Drew Barrymore look alike came in & talked my ear off. She'll be 20 July 5th, she works at Victoria Secrets & it's her first job. FYI - the girls at Victoria Secrets don't work on commission. Shocking, since they attack you multiple times while you're in the store! If anyone's looking for a second job or maybe just a first part-time one, I recommend Victoria Secrets based on Carrie's info. She gets a 30% discount & every time they come out with a new bra she gets a free one so she can give an "honest testimonial".  Carrie also lives in my subdivision & is meeting her boyfriends parents & grandparents for the first time tomorrow. She's quite nervous. Carrie's mom was at home sleeping. She had a procedure for the veins in her legs. I told you Carrie talked my ear off!

When I finally got home we veered from our normal Friday routine of going to dinner. We ate left overs & spent the evening in the pool. I use the term pool loosely. As hot as it is, it almost felt like a hot tub. It was definitely hotter than the hot tub on our cruise in January. We had these too.

I love Pina Coladas!!!

I have friends that are in New York this week. They've been texting & emailing all week making me jealous! Tonight they were at the New Kids On The Block concert at Radio City Music Hall. So cool. Well, being the good friends that they are they called me when little Joey Joe was singing Please Don't Go Girl & at the end when they sang Hangin' Tough. It was delightful. Much to Dean's chagrin, I put it on speaker phone & was able to hear & sing along. Oh how I wish I was there with them. Maybe next time.

I'm super excited because one week from tomorrow I'll on a plane to San Diego!! So so so excited!

Have a great weekend!
