I'm Ready for a Trip!!

It's been a busy day. This morning I ran some errands. I spent too much time in Hobby Lobby. They had all of their garden stuff out & I just roamed around & looked at everything. Basically, just dreaming of the day I can actually spend time outside & not freeze! I picked up lunch on the way home & by the time I finished eating it was time to leave for the LSU game. As we were getting ready to leave Amelia-Ann came over so she came with us to the game. It was her first LSU baseball game. This is us before the game started. It was just a little windy!

This one turned out better.

After the game Dean & I went to the mall. We decided while standing in the customs line coming home from the cruise that we need new luggage. Ours is old & has regular wheels. JC Penneys had luggage on sale & they had coupons. The one we got is huge & has those great spinner wheels on it. If anyone is in the market for luggage make sure it has spinners!!! This is it.

It's Liz Claiborne & very cute! This is the inside.

Yes that's HOT PINK!!! Sooo cute! The outside has lots of browns & tans so Dean isn't against carrying it. We got a great deal too. Regular price was $280 & it was 50% off. There were coupons in Friday's paper for $15 off a $100 purchase. Then whenever you buy anything at Penney's you can go online & do a customer service survey & get a coupon for 15% off a purchase. That coupon can be combined with any others you have. I've learned to never buy anything at Penney's if you don't have a coupon. I also had a $10 off a $10 purchase coupon so I found a cute casual shirt.

It's yellow & was on sale. Regular price was $22. It was on sale for $12.99 minus my $10 coupon, I paid $2.90 with tax!

We had dinner at Monjuni's which was delicious as usual! Now we're watching The Informant. It's supposed to be a comedy but I haven't found it very funny. Matt Damon's in it but it's not his typical movie. Supposedly, it just keeps getting better. We'll see.

"The Box"

As most of you know I'm a huge LSU baseball fan. My interest has waned a bit over the last few seasons but I still spend a lot of time at "The New Box". Saturday, I went by the old box which will always be "The Box" to me. I was very sad to see this.

I knew they were in the process of tearing it down but I didn't think it would look like this. This is where our seats used to be.

It just doesn't seem like a dignified way for it to die, so to speak. That place has seen so many things and been a part of so many memories for so many people. It's a shame to see it like this.

Typical of LSU, they only care about making money. Everything has been stripped from the stadium & is being auctioned on their website. Lucky for me that I had the foresight to get dirt from the field the weekend of the last game. Dean managed to get home plate at the beginning of the last season & a good friend of ours that is a Landscape Architect at LSU got us a piece of sod from the field after the last season & it's currently growing in our yard. Before long that's all that will be left of "The Box".

Toodles.

I Spell Loser T I G E R!

Dean has Sean Hannity on. I still say this is the source of my teeth grinding. I watch 5 minutes of this show & get so worked up it's ridiculous. Tonight his guest was Gloria Allred. In case you don't know, she's the attorney that is representing some of those chicks that Tiger had the affairs with. This woman has lost her mind! She's demanding that Tiger owes her client an apology. I'm in no way defending Tiger. I think he's a loser with a capital L. BUT, why would he owe this chick an apology?? According to Gloria, he "hurt her & lied to her". Hmmm, interesting argument about a woman that KNEW she was having an affair with Tiger Woods who she knew was MARRIED. Hannity was trying to make this point but Gloria wasn't having it. Hannity finally said that he doesn't think Tiger owes a porn star an apology. Gloria's defense to that was "she's not a porn star, she hasn't done that in 2 yrs." Hannity's response "ok former porn star". This brings me to Tiger's press conference. I actually watched it live. Not because I care but there wasn't anything else to do. I personally think it was just a big joke. No, the paparazzi shouldn't be stalking your kids but maybe you should've thought about that before you chose to cheat on your wife. Loser Loser Loser!!! Now I've got to go put my mouth piece in so Dean can sleep through the teeth grinding.

Night Night!

From The Window To The Wall

Once again the weekend is coming to a close. What a bummer. I often wonder if it's better to stay home & do nothing & have the weekend go by slow or be busy doing fun stuff & have it fly by. Just something to ponder.

Saturday morning I went to see this little guy.

Lydia had a hair appointment so me, Logan & Baxter hung out. We played & took lots of pictures. As fun as it was, it was sad too. Logan doesn't want to be held anymore. What a sad day. I'd pick him up & he was content for all of about 30 seconds & he wanted down. He did a lot of this.

Then there was this.

Logan would go to the window & Baxter would follow him. Then by the time we got back to the living room & to Logan's toys, Baxter would go back to the window & off went Logan right behind him. This went on for awhile. It was a vicious cycle. I guess all the going back & forth wore Baxter out & he decided to take a nap.

Logan, however, was not ready for a nap.

And the cycle continues! From the window......

Our Godchild had his birthday party Saturday afternoon. On my way I made a stop & got this.

Yep, it's a fish. I've been looking for one of these for months. Back in October I was shopping with my friend Allison & I saw a fish that I loved at a furniture store. The only problem with the fish is that it was $50. The thrifty side of me wouldn't allow myself to pay $50 for a ceramic fish that I was going to put in the landscaping by the pool. After the Saints won the Superbowl this particular store was offering a 50% discount on an accessory. Well, of course the fish was gone. This one isn't exactly like the one I wanted but it was $20 & I do like it. I got it at Drusilla Imports.

Next stop, the birthday party. Lane was 4 on Thursday. Happy Birthday Lane!! His party was at Monkey Bizz. Here's the birthday boy. It was really difficult to get him to look at the camera with the cake & ice cream distracting him.

This is Lane opening his gift from Dean & I.

We have provided him with the ability to be his own one man band. He now has a drum from Guatemala & a flute & morroco from Cozumel. Vicki, remember that we provided these instruments if he's one day a famous musician.

Our friend Jill was there with her family too. This is Preston.

He had his 1st birthday Friday. Happy Birthday Preston! Jill's birthday was yesterday. Happy Birthday Jill! See a pattern here??? Preston loved this car ride.

Another friend, Allison, had her family at the party as well. This is Cael & a little glimpse of Jill's little girl Bayleigh.

Cael's the little bruiser of the bunch! Surprisingly, he was bruise free. That's a tremendous feat for Cael! For a hot minute I thought there was going to be a brewhaha between Cael & some much larger/older kids. You see, Spongebob made an appearance. For whatever reason these people thought it would be a good idea to bring their own Spongebob into a children's birthday place. He was attacked by a bunch of kids. When Cael saw him, he took off & was pushing his way through those bigger kids to get close & give Spongebob a hug. This was quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen. Spongebob ended up making a pretty quick exit. This is Allison attempting to get a picture of me & Cael. He was very busy & told me "I'm racing".

Once the party was over my next stop was the LSU game. It was starting to get cold when our friends Paul & Niki came & sat with us. It's been awhile since we've seen each other so Niki & I spent the game catching up. By the 6th inning the score was ridiculous (16-3) so we left & went to La Carreta for dinner & Rumrita's!! It was all delicious & we had a really good time.

I had every intention of going to the LSU game today too but that didn't happen. We went to 7:00 Mass & stopped & did our grocery shopping. The weather was yuck. It wasn't raining but looked like it would be at any moment. I decided to stay home & nap & catch up on my shows on the DVR. I did a little laundry & picking up around the house as well.

I'll leave you with this, just because he's soooo cute!!

Happy 1st Day of Baseball Season

I'm currently writing this from my truck. No, I'm not driving. I'm just sitting in my truck with the heat running listening to the LSU baseball game because I'd turned into a popsicle in the stands. According to the little temp thingy in the truck it's 52 degrees. Trust me it feels much colder.

Back in the day this would've been a most exiciting day. My friends & I & even Dean couldn't wait until the first day of baseball season. Nothing short of death kept us from "The Box". We sat in cold, rain, extreme heat & yes even snow. Sadly, those days are gone. I still enjoy the games but it's just not the same.

Aside from the weather conditions I've had a good start to my weekend. I only worked until 12:30 which is always a good thing. I went to my parents to visit a bit & then headed to Zachary. A wonderful friend took pity on my sewing post & graciously offered to fix my pants. Thanks Mrs. Carolyn! I enjoyed visiting with you & Mr. Ron & Emmaleigh is so cute!! (I just love how she spells her name!!). After our visit I went to get my hair cut & highlighted. I love to get my hair done. There's nothing like having someone wash & massage your head!! Now instead of roots I have fresh caramel highlights. Don't you just feel better when you have good hair??

Tonight was the first baseball game of the season & we had 2 extra tickets. We brought "the girls", our neighbors & good friends, Alexandra & Allie. They love Mikie Mahtook. Mikie, if you happen to run across this, they'd love to meet you, take a picture with you & go out with you.

Speaking of pictures, this is Alexandria, Allie & me.

Dean & I were pleasantly surprised when we got to our seats & saw Brent, Dean's cousin & best man in our wedding. Brent lives in North Carolina & we don't see him as often as we'd like. Of course I got a picture! This is Brent, me & Dean with is ridiculous hat on.

Oh how I hate that hat! It's not so much the hat but that stupid fluffy yellow ball on the top just looks ridiculous! You can get the full effect of the ridiculousness of it in this picture but trust me. I hate hate hate it!!!

It's now time for bed because I'm getting up bright & early to go see Logan. I'm going to watch him while Lydia gets her hair done. I can't wait to see him!

Tennis Anyone?

Yesterday was the first day I tried out our new Wii. I didn't start the exercise program yet, I just played tennis. I'm not very good. I think I won 4 games. Not matches, games & I played a whole lot more than 4. It wasn't pretty but that was no surprise. The surprise is that I played for an hour! The time flew by! I can't figure out if that's a good or bad thing. Good that I was up & moving for an hour but bad that I wasn't cleaning house or something more important. I did learn a couple of things. 1. Shoes need to be worn while playing. Just as you wouldn't play real tennis barefooted, you shouldn't play Wii tennis barefooted. 2. This game really works the arm you're swinging with SOOO if you want both arms to have an equal workout you're going to have to play with your less dominant hand. Funny thing is, I didn't play a whole lot worse with my left hand than I did with my right. Today I played again. Another hour & then I did about 15 minutes of Boxing. WOW!!! Boxing is a real workout. My plan is to start the exercise program Sunday. I didn't want to start yesterday or today because I doubt that I have time to do it tomorrow or Saturday & I hate to start & then not do anything for days. Of course, after I start I may need days to recuperate from actually exercising. We shall see.

I hate to start on this again but it's cold. It's been 29 degrees the last couple of nights. I hate it. The only thing saving my mood is that it's been sunny. Remember how excited I was that Sunday is going to be sunny & 70?? Yeh, well it's going to be 71 but it's also going to be raining! What a bummer.

That's it for now.

Can Someone Teach Me To Sew???

Really I only need to learn how to hem pants. I currently have 3 pair that the hem is coming out of. What is the deal with this? It's only one leg & not the same leg on every pair. Then today I'm walking along & I can tell something's up with one leg of my pants. Yep, sure enough, another hem has come undone. Seriously, I don't catch my feet in the hem or anything. I don't know what's causing this. Are pants just poorly made now? I guess I'm going to have to bring them somewhere to be fixed but with hems coming out the way they are this is going to get expensive.

Sam's sent me an email today that my umbrella has been shipped!!! FedEx is on their way. It doesn't show an estimated date of delivery yet but I'm very excited to know it will be here soon!!

I'm so ready for the weekend. I know it's only Tuesday, but I get to see little Logan, go to a birthday party & an LSU game Saturday. Not really looking forward to that 5:00 baseball game. It's pretty cold when the sun goes down. I am looking forward to the game Sunday. It's supposed to be 70!

As you can tell, today's another day of nothing going on. It's been a slow week!

Happy Mardi Gras!!

It Didn't Snow!

That was one less thing to deal with today. I never thought I'd say I was glad for no snow but I had to go to work & if I can't play in it, it doesn't need to happen. It did storm last night though.

Tonight they say it's going to be 29. Ridiculous. Instead of complaining about the weather which I can't do a thing about I'm going to think about the summer. In the last post I mentioned that I bought an umbrella base for the patio & that I wanted a red umbrella. I checked out Sam's website & believe it or not they have the red umbrella!!! WOOO HOOO!!! I was scared about the shipping cost though. Something big & awkward like a 10' market umbrella can't possibly be cheap to ship. I was wrong! It's only $5.99. How can this be? I've ordered clothes & all sorts of random things nowhere near as heavy or awkward as the umbrella & paid more than $5.99. I couldn't get my credit card out fast enough. I was so scared they were going to sell out. So, in 3-8 business days I should be the proud owner of a bright red umbrella AND it's going to be delivered to my door by UPS! I love love love getting mail. Not bills but packages, letters, cards, checks, just about anything that doesn't require me to write a check I love, but the one thing I love even more is getting something from UPS or FedEx!!! I know it's stupid but I love it! Now I have something to look forward to.

Mr. Andrew was able to go home from the hospital today. I know he was very excited about that & we're excited that he's doing so well!

Other than that there isn't much going on.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

As I said last time I was here, we were going to watch Couples Retreat. I enjoyed it much more than Four Christmases. Thank God. It was funny & Vince only had a couple of moments. Overall, it was a funny movie!

Yesterday, Dean & I were going to run a couple of errands. We planned to go to Sam's & Academy. We ended up at the outlet mall too. Dean needed tennis shoes. I'm sad to say that Dean got 2 pair & I got zero! I saw lots of cute summer shoes but I refrained. I was looking for a cute pair of black flats & they didn't have the ones I really liked in my size. Oh well, maybe next time. I did pick up a couple of things at Sam's. I got EA Action for the Wii & a pretty patio umbrella base. I didn't get an umbrella because I'd really like a red one & all Sam's had was tan & green. After looking online & seeing what a fabulous price Sam's has I may be getting a green one. We ate lunch at Chili's. They've changed the menu but I still enjoyed it.

When we got home we were getting ready to go to Church & Mrs. Joyce called. Her & Mr. Andrew had been in the ER since noon. Mr. Andrew was short of breath. They'd run all sorts of test & hadn't found anything but they were going to do another one to check for blood clots. When we got to the hospital they had determined that he had "lots" of blood clots in both lungs & one in his leg. They were going to put him in ICU for the night to keep an eye on him while administering blood thinners. Dean stayed with him & I went with Mrs. Joyce to her house to get clothes. When we got back we were able to see him & he looked fine & was his usual self. Mrs. Joyce came & spent the night with us so she didn't have to drive all the way home. He was moved to a regular room today & is expected to be there a couple of days. We visited with him today & it seems his biggest problem is the mattress. It's very, very thin. When we left the hospital we had dinner at Times Grill. Overall we had a relaxing Valentine's Day. I was able to do a little more organizing in the LSU room which is my current project. I've got a couple of boxes loaded up to bring to Goodwill.

We had 2 fabulously sunny, beautiful days. It was soooo nice. Well, that's done. We are currently under a winter weather advisory & snow is expected around 2am. WTH???? This is getting out of hand. It's snowed twice in like 2 months & now it may be twice in 4 days???? It's ridiculous. I still say Global Warming is a farce & nobody will convince me otherwise!!

Global Warming is a Farce!!!

It snowed today. Again. That's twice in 2 months & 3 times in like 14 months. Suffice it to say I don't believe in Global Warming. It wasn't just a few flurries either. When I woke up it was just raining so I was thinking the weather people were wrong again. Of course when I get to work it started. I called Dean who was off today & he said "it's really coming down". Figures. He took pictures though. Here's the house.

The pool. I can't wait 'til it warms up. I'm so ready to lay on my raft & float around.

I had a Dermatologist appt. this afternoon for my annual mole check. All's good on that front. She wasn't happy about my Belize sunburn. How did she know? I'm STILL peeling!!! Being that we were talking about sunburn, she gave me a list of sunscreens that she recommends. Consider this some free advice. The list is as follows: Blue Lizard, Coppertone Spectra 3, Clinique City Block SPF 15 or 25, Neutrogena Ultra Sheer, Vanicream, Presun, Solbar, Aveeno, Cotz Total Block. She said the most important factor is that it's "Broad Spectrum" so that it blocks both UVB & UVA Rays. As for SPF, pale people like me should use 30. If you're like Dean & use 8 you're wasting your time according to Dr. Stephanie. She said she doesn't know why they make anything less than 15.

Because I'm bored to tears I'm doing something that I'm pretty sure I'll regret, I'm watching Couples Retreat. I'll have a review tomorrow! We're 20 mins. in & there's only been one Vince incident. We shall see!

When will spring get here???

The week has just gone downhill after the Saints won the Superbowl. It's been cold, it rained & now it's sleeting & there's a possibility of snow tonight & tomorrow. Any other time I'd be excited about snow but I work for the newspaper & like the mail people, the newspaper doesn't close for weather issues. Well, except maybe a day for a hurricane. It's so depressing. When the weather was like this in Dec. & Jan. I had the cruise & tropical weather to look forward to. I have NOTHING now. UGGGHHHHHH! It's the perfect weather to lay on the sofa with my electric throw & a good book. I'm hoping for like 4 or 5 inches of snow. If that happens I may not have to go to work because I'm not essential personnel & that much snow would create chaos here. Keep your fingers crossed!!!!

Speaking of the weather, the college baseball season starts next week. The weather NEEDS to get better. My days of sitting at the LSU games in rain, sleet & yes, even snow, albeit a few flurries, but snow none the less, are OVER. Yes, that was a ridiculously long & I'm sure grammatically incorrect sentence. I've become very particular on when I can go to the games. It can't be too cold & it can't be too hot. Kinda like Brett Laxton in the '90s not being able to pitch unless the weather was perfect. I digress, the weather MUST MUST MUST get better because it's making me cranky.

Has anyone seen the movie Couples Retreat? In an earlier post I talked about my extreme dislike for Vince Vaughn. I vowed that I wouldn't watch another of his movies. Well, we got a coupon in the mail the other day from Directv that we can order it free from Pay Per View. I just don't know if it's worth my time.

See, it's been a really slow, boring week.

We Got Crunk!!!

Black & Gold has WON the SUPERBOWL!!!!! Who Dat? and all that jazz! I honestly never thought I would see this day. So much so, that I never even thought about it really! I remember after a couple of games my brother saying "Black & Gold Superbowl" & I was like "yeh right whatever". It was sooooo much fun & it's crazy in South Louisiana now!

I thought this was one of the greatest pictures from the Superbowl.

Imagine how Drew's son is going to feel 15 yrs. from now looking at some of these pictures!

Yesterday, I taught Sunday School. My plan was to come home & nap the afternoon away so that I'd be able to stay up & watch the game & all the postgame festivities & still be able to function today at work. Ahhh, the best laid plans! Things didn't work out. By the time I got home from Mass, ate lunch & changed clothes, I managed to lay down for about 30 mins. before it was time to go to the party. Then off we went! Here's Amelia-Ann, Me & Mackenzie before kick off.

The back of my shirt says "We Do"! Too cute I thought!

We had a "Kickoff Champagne Toast"

That's a blackberry to make it a "black & gold toast"!!

We had a great time watching the game. Aside from winning, it was really a good game to watch. Unlike a lot of Louisianians, I've always been a Peyton fan & I thought I would feel bad about not pulling for him but I didn't! This was the 2 minute warning.

Everyone was a bit nervous. Hey Allison, notice the guy standing on a bar stool!!!!

Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures. I was using my phone. I'd forgotten my good camera at home & there was no time to go get it. I didn't want to miss the game & I didn't want to miss the commercials. I guess I should've gone at half time & missed The Who. Who cares abut them?? When the game was over we just hung out & watched all the postgame stuff & had our own little "dance party". We got crunk & had a blast! This is Amelia-Ann & Mackenzie. Mackenzie made THE BEST king cake I've ever tasted!!!!

The girls even pulled out glow sticks!!

I thought it was cool the way the colors showed up!

Bad Looking Out

This morning I went to Babies R Us to by a Wii. They were advertising in their sale paper that when you buy the Wii you get either a case or a charger thing free. A $40 value. Being that everywhere I looked has been sold out I called them before I went over there. They told me they had 2 & would hold one if I was coming today. Off I went. The girls at the service desk gave me a look when I told them why I was there. Then they asked me "we have some?" Um yeh. I don't work there or anything but yes you have 2. Off she goes to wherever & after a few minutes she came back with it. Of course when I ask about the free accessory she acts like she has no clue what I'm talking about. I had my sale paper though. Off she goes again only to come back & tell me that they don't sell the accessories & that I can go to Toys R Us when they get some in & return it & re-buy it to get the free thing. Fine whatever. Off I go to Toys R Us. I know this is a lot of work but it's $40 & it's right across the street. Lucky for me they had the accessory & didn't give me any problems & now I have my charger.

Back to Babies R Us, when I was paying the cashier asked if I wanted to join their reward program, "it's free". Isn't that nice? In the last 4 yrs. I've spent a small fortune at this store because everyone I know has had a baby & this is the FIRST time anyone ever mentioned the rewards program. Apparently, they send you coupons & for every $150 you spend you get a coupon. So sign up if you haven't.

After I left Toys R Us I went to Baum's Bakery. There was an article in this mornings paper about their black & gold fleur de lis king cakes. I thought that would be the perfect thing to bring to the Super Bowl Party we're going to. I get there & they don't have any. They have about a million regular king cakes all over the place. It seems like it would've been a better idea to have a bunch of Saints king cakes made up being that it is Super Bowl weekend & you're going to have an article in the paper. Did I mention that the sign outside said "We have Saints king cakes!"?? However, if I want to come back after 3:00 they'll have some. Sorry, no thanks. Bad looking out I tell ya.

I went to Mass this afternoon. The closing hymn was "When The Saints Go Marching In". I've NEVER heard so much singing. As our Priest left the altar he threw in a "Who Dat"!!! It was pretty awesome!

Speaking of the Saints, it's been more than 24 hours since I've heard "Get Crunk". What's up with that???

Oh Bravo How I Love Thee!!!

I stopped on my way home from work today & got my nails done. Such a nice way to start the weekend. I really like the place I've been going. The little guy that owns the place is very nice. Their signs also make me laugh. I swear every time I go there's a new sign. First it was "We open Sunday Saturday", written exactly like that. Then there was "We're Not Accept Check". Today, there was an easel outside the door with a sign that said "WARNING!!!!!! Coming up Valentine's Day. We open Valentine's Day". I don't think they really understand that Valentine's Day is a gift giving opportunity but not so much having to have your nails done on that day! We got back into our regular routine & we went to dinner at La Caretta. It was really good! I haven't figured out what I'll be doing tomorrow aside from cleaning house.

You're probably wondering about the title. Well, while I was getting my nails done the TV was on CNN & I read at the bottom of the screen that Alice Horton from Days of Our Lives died. On our way to eat I was looking at TMZ on my phone to see how old Alice was. She was 95 & she was on the show as late as 2007. WOW! Anyway, on TMZ was the story about Charlie Sheen's stolen car being found at the bottom of a cliff & there was another story about another car that was stolen & found in a cliff as well. The Bentley was owned by Paris Hilton's aunt & in the article it said that she's a finalist for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. OMG OMG!!! SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!! I didn't know a thing about it. I didn't even know Bravo was talking about a Beverly Hills show. I just happen to love, love, love Real Housewives of Orange County. Then of course there was New York. It's good. Then Atlanta, which is just completely ghetto. Then New Jersey which I liked except I keep expecting someone to end up in a trunk or on the bottom of the river. OC is definitely my fave but I have a feeling that it will move to second place once Beverly Hills comes out. I can't really explain the greatness of these shows. I can't imagine having the money they have & I just love seeing how they live. Not to mention I love to see where they live & how they decorate. I know it's the epitome of mindless TV but that's part of the greatness!! I did a little research & found this
http://www.thedailytruffle.com/2010/01/bravo-selecting-cast-of-the-real-housewives-of-beverly-hills/

I just cannot wait!!!!

In less that 48 hours we'll know whether the Saints won the Superbowl. It's all very exciting!!!!

Who Dat Part Deux

It has been brought to my attention by Lydia that perhaps the reason Shockey's hair is so disgusting is because he's decided not to wash it until he wins a Superbowl. This thought never crossed my mind. Mainly because I don't think that's the case but let's go with it. If that is in fact his intention I will give him a break until after Sunday. BUT if the Saints win Sunday, I expect to see a clean head on Monday in all the interviews & pictures. After all, you can't go to do Disney World dirty.

On another hair note, there was a picture of Remi Ayodele, defensive tackle for the Saints, in the paper today. It was a small picture so I found this one on the internets so you'd get the full effect.

In the paper it says that his hair resembles the top of a Cockatoo's head. Definitely not the first thing I thought of but I can see the comparison. Anyway, when I read this quote it made me laugh. "I call it a Mohawk, but down here it's a frohawk because of the weather," Remi says with a frown. "It's killing me because I can't get it right. It's kind of smushed down because of the humidity. But what can you do, there's no time to see a stylist." Awww, so many comments about his comments. First off, he's talking about his hair being a mess in Miami? Umm, dude, you live in New Orleans like half the year. I'm pretty sure you should be used to the humidity by now. Secondly, he can't get it right? Seriously? It's a mo/frohawk. What's to get right? Thirdly, he has a stylist to do a mo/fro?? I would think anybody could do that, maybe even Shockey. Lastly, I am glad that he realizes there's no time for a Stylist. We want them concentrating on the game.

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!

Yesterday I had a dentist appt. & when I was finished I went to my mom's. She had Logan. He's so fun! We played & he attacked me numerous times. It seems he loves my iPhone, my sunglasses, my Dr. Pepper & my pearl earrings!!!! That's ok he gave lots of kisses too! I think he's tired of having his picture taken though.

He had actually just woke up from a short nap. I've tried to tell him not to make that face or those creases in his forehead are going to stay & he's going to look like me.

I Went Shopping!

Before the cruise I went shopping. I just wanted to see if I saw anything cute that I had to have. I found a few things. I keep hearing about the greatness that is Forever 21 & I just haven't seen it UNTIL this trip! Being that I'm not in my 20's anymore there's lots of things in this store that I cannot wear but if you're willing to look, you can find some cute stuff. Beware of their return policy. No refunds whether you have a receipt or not. I'm not crazy about that because I go to the mall at lunch & pick up things then I try on once I get home & if I don't like something it goes back. Anyway, the main thing I was looking for was a black sweater. Just something light but that was a little dressier than a jacket. I found this. I thought it was perfect!

I saw this top & at first I wasn't sure about it.

The more I looked at it the more I liked it. I'm so glad I bought it because it looks cute on & the material is really soft. It doesn't need a lot of ironing either.

I thought this was a cute casual top for the summer to wear with shorts.

I really love Forever 21's prices. I got all 3 things for $40 including tax. Not bad for a quick trip to the mall at lunch!

I'm in DSW's reward club or whatever it is they call it & I get emails from them periodically. Right before we left on the cruise I got an email saying that clearance stuff was an additional 50% off. Of course I didn't need any shoes but when has that ever stopped me?? I was excited to find these.

With the additional discount they were $10! I can always use flip flops & I loved the plaid & they're Tommy Hilfiger.

Then I saw these

my heart nearly stopped! I LOVED them! They were $15. I was thrilled that they still had my size. So with shipping my total is like $33. At DSW since I'm a reward member if I spend $35 I get free shipping. Well, far be it from me to pass up a deal. It would be in my best interest to buy a 3rd pair of shoes & reach the $35 point & get free shipping. That way I get 3 pairs of shoes for what 2 pair with shipping would've cost!! It took me a bit to explain this to Dean so that he understood that I was saving money by getting 3 pair. I found these.

They were $12. Just a basic pair of black peep toes. Of course I am a bit concerned that all of them won't fit. You just never know when you don't try them on. When we got home from the cruise I had a huge box waiting for me & all 3 pair fit!! They are all so cute! They look even better in person & the peep toes are REALLY comfortable!

Saturday morning Dean & I went to Sam's. As much as I hate Walmart, I love Sam's. I know it's weird but you never know what you'll find & I used to work there & actually liked it. Well, all of it except the dealing with the public part. Anyway, I was going with the intention of buying a Wii. They're sold out. It figures. The problem with Sam's is, you always come out with more than you went in for even when they're sold out of the main thing you went for. I ended up with this.

Just a basic white top but I thought it was cute. It's got a little band around the sleeves & it's thicker than a t-shirt. I can always use white tops. It's Ann Klein & was $10. Can't beat that. I also found this

A baby pink Izod sweater for $15. I wore it yesterday with my pearls. I felt like Jen Lancaster! Then I found this

For whatever reason I loved it! I just like the little ruffly type collar & the color. I don't have anything this color so I thought it would be a nice addition to my wardrobe. The picture doesn't show the color very well. It's actually a bright green. Soooo pretty! The best part? It was $10. Couldn't pass it up. The lesson here is to always look at the clothes at Sam's. You never know what they might have!

Who Dat!

It's Superbowl week! Normally, this would not be a big deal BUT as you all know, the Saints are in the SUPERBOWL!! This is big time! Even if you're not a Saints fan you have to appreciate this team making it as far as they have. I'm certainly not a die hard. I've been known to say that I'm waiting for the Saints to be the Saints or to do something Saintly. I won't mention how I would've been correct if Garrett Hartley wouldn't have kicked a certain field goal. Anyway, I always want them to win & this state will go crazy if that happens Sunday. This brings me to the reason for today's post. The Saints have arrived in Miami.

I'm happy to see that just because they're all gazillionaires they still have to carry their own luggage.

Oh little Chris Reis, what are you wearing??

It's time to buy a new suit. Really dude, you play in the NFL & you make tons of money even if you're at the league minimum. Please just buy a nice suit!

Then there's this

What can I say? I know I'm going to take a lot of heat for this but people are all over me because I love McConaughey. Just because there's that vicious rumor that he doesn't wear deodorant doesn't meant it's true. However, there isn't a person out there that can argue that this is clean hair. I was under the impression that his hair only looked like this on the field. I thought he just produced a ridiculous amount of sweat that caused his hair to look like that. I had NO IDEA that it ALWAYS looks like this. I mean if you don't wash your hair going to the Superbowl when will you???
