Thanksgiving Eve!

I'm hoping the office will close early today. A lot of people are off so there's not much happening. I need to get my nails done & Cindy & I are planning to get a walk in. Trying to keep moving to off set the food that will be eaten tomorrow.

I've been seeing all of the gift guides in the blog world & I thought I'd make my own little wish list.

iPhone 6

I've had a couple of iPhones but I've never had the latest model. Right now I have the 4S. It does the job but I'd love to have the new one. Not the big one just the regular 6.

I love my Pandora bracelet. There are a few beads that I'd like.

The running shoe & the Pinot Grigio are Chamillia beads & the others are Pandora. I have both brands on my bracelet now.

Adjustable dumbbells

This may seem a little random but I've been using weights off & on for awhile & I love these because they're adjustable & you don't have to take a bunch of weights off. It's something to do with the case thing they're in.

A milk frother

I don't know how well these things work but I'd love to be able to make a latte at home.

I've always wanted a car with a big bow for Christmas!

I have a nice car, it's only 3 years old, it has low mileage, blah, blah, blah but I miss my Expedition & would like a new one.

Then there's this!

Is that not the sweetest little face ever??? I'm pretty sure that face could make me forget about the Expedition.

So basically this is more of a pipe dream list than a Christmas list. With the exception of the beads & maybe the milk frother........

What's on y'alls list?

A Breakfast Date

Saturday morning Scott & Lydia were running a 10 mi. race that was close to my house so I picked Logan up for a breakfast date. My friend Allie came with us. By the end of breakfast Logan wanted Allie to be his sister. Since when do 5 year olds want 20 year olds for sisters?

We went to Coffee Call for beignets. They were delicious as usual!

We got back in time for Logan to cheer for his daddy as he crossed the finish line. A couple of LSU football players were handing out water at the finish line, Christian Lacouture & Quinton Thomas. While we were watching for Lydia to finish Logan asked them a million questions & they were very nice. He even asked if they "had a son". Ha!

After the 10 mi. race there was a 1 mi. run. There was some confusion at Logan's house Sat. morning which led to this striking running outfit. Just to be clear, he did not wear those shorts to breakfast.

Speaking of shorts - our weather is out of control. 25 last week, Saturday was in the 60's with gale force wind & Sunday almost 80. Tomorrow morning it will be 20 degress cooler than this morning.

Logan was pumped to run!

Crossing the finish line.

They didn't do official time for the 1 mile but Logan ran it in less than 10 minutes.

After the race I headed home. When I went to the Doctor Friday I got a shot & an antibiotic.
I still wasn't feeling great so I took a nap & then we went to Mass & ran a couple of errands.

Yesterday I was feeling much better. Thank goodness! I got some things done at home.
I got my closet all straightened out . I moved a lot of my summer clothes to another closet & I even did some ironing.

This morning I got back into my exercise routine.  My friend Cindy is running the Princess Half at Disney in February & yesterday she signed up for the Glass Slipper Challenge. She'll run a 10K Sat. & the Half the next day. She's scared & I'm happy because she MUST train so I'll have a running buddy!

We did 4 miles walking & running. I didn't start my watch until I met up with Cindy so it's not showing the full 4 miles. My next Half is in 8 weeks so no more playing around.

FRIDAY!!!!

So, so excited for the weekend! We don't have a lot of plans but I'm just ready to be off.

I'm headed to the doctor in a little while. I finally broke down & made an appointment. I don't feel awful but I'm not right either & I'm tired of it. Hopefully, there's a quick fix.

Tonight we're going to dinner with some friends for a late birthday celebration for Dean. His birthday was Monday.

Tomorrow morning Scott & Lydia are running a 10 mile race about 10 minutes from our house so I'm going to meet them & get Logan & bring him to breakfast while they run. He'll have his choice of donuts or beignets. I'm really hoping for beignets! Or maybe I should hope for donuts since I'm not crazy about them & it won't be hard for me to not eat one??? Trying to eat right since the holidays are coming up.

Last night we went to Louisiana Lagniappe for Dean's birthday meal. This place is soooo good & if you're on their birthday list you get a free meal. Not a chintzy, cheap free meal either. Whatever you entree you want. Dean had a $50 steak last night. The only catch they have is you can only use your birthday meal Monday through Thursday & either 14 days before your birthday or 14 days after. I had the Fresh Fish en Papillote or "the fish in the paper" as Dean likes to call it. Really, really good.

Saturday night was Homecoming for several of our friends daughters.

Me & Amelia-Ann. I still can't believe she's 16. When we moved in she was 6.

Amelia-Ann & Maddie - Love these two!

Have y'all tried this?

So good!! I was in Winn Dixie the other night buying a turkey & the fixings for corn pudding that Dean was bringing to work & I ran across it. It was in the refrigerated section. It's delicious!

Yesterday morning was a latte kind of morning. I was going to get the Caramel Brulee until I saw the calorie count on the Chestnut Praline was 100 calories less! I've had the Chestnut Praline already & liked it so I had another one. I've seen a lot of people on Facebook aren't a fan. Have y'all tried it?

Have a great weekend!

A COLD WEEKEND!

Friday after work I went to my parents. We went to Starbuck's & I tried out the new Chestnut Praline Latte. I liked it! I went with my brother to pick Logan up at school & then brought him home with me. Me, him & Dean went out for pizza then home to watch a movie & read his new books from the book fair.

Saturday morning we woke up to this.

I was not thrilled. We had a day of outside activities planned. After dealing with sinus issues all week I woke up to a not normal voice. My throat didn't really hurt but I sounded funny.

The first stop of the day was at the St. Joseph's Academy Sticker Stampede. Logan was running in the 1 mile fun run.

He ran the entire mile & finished in 10:06.

Afterwards me, Scott & my friend Suzy ran the 5K. Lydia was running a Half Marathon on Sunday so she sat this one out.

I don't know how he ran in shorts!

I had company the last quarter mile of the race!

Logan's in front of me & our Godchild Lane is next to me. Those are my gloves I'm holding.
At one point I started to warm up & I couldn't stand to have them on.

Lane  & Logan with the Sticker mascot.

Guess what? Logan came in 3rd place in the 14 & under age group!

He was so excited! This is Logan & the 1st place winner along with St. Joseph's Principal.

Scott won 1st in his age group.

That's him in the gray with the other winners. As soon as that race was over he bundled up.

My friend Suzy came in 2nd in her age group.

That's her in the teal jacket. It was a good day for all of my running peeps.
I finished in a respectable 30:11. The race was actually 3 mi. instead of 3.1.

Lane & Logan made St. Joseph's website.

Once the race was over we went home & the boys played with Suzy's dog & jumped on her trampoline & I got dressed. Then Dean & I brought the boys to our church fair.

They rode & rode!

They ate more pizza!

The boys seemed to have a great time.

I think we wore him out!

After Logan went home Dean & I had dinner at Caliente & then went back to the fair becasue the Chee Weez were playing. My friend Allison came too. We had a great spot where we could watch the debacle that was the LSU game & listen to the band at the same time. It was a lot of fun. Cold but fun.

Sunday, however, was not fun. When I woke up I had no voice. Sometimes nothing would come out, sometimes squeaks. I stayed in bed the entire day. I'm feeling ok now, not 100% &  my voice still isn't back to normal but I'm better. Needless to say there's been no exercise this week. Hopefully by the weekend I can get back on track.

Bama Hate Week

That was the hash tag being used all week if anyone tweeted anything about the LSU/Bama game Saturday. In case you hadn't heard, it was a big deal. It's ALWAYS a big deal.

The plan for Saturday was for Dean to cook a deer sauce piquante.

It ended up being a gorgeous day & everyone decided they wanted to go tailgate for a little bit. Everyone went out there around noon except for me & Jackie. We didn't want to be out there that long so Jackie's parents dropped us off at 2:00. Traffic was insane. We live approximately 4 miles from the football stadium.  Jackie dropped her daughters & friends off & it took her an hour & fifteen minutes. Under normal circumstances it a 10 minute trip. We didn't' even attempt to get dropped off close. We walked about a mile to get where our group was.

Me & Allie

Jordan & Allie, Hillary, me, Anna, Jackie & Alexis

After a little bit Dean & I walked over to see some other friends that we haven't seen in forever.

Me & Renee'

Me, Stan & Renee' - Stan & Renee' are married & I worked with Stan at The Advocate for years.

Me, Sheri, Alexandra & Jackie
There were sooooo many people on campus. The stadium holds 102,000, the game was sold out & they were estimating that 160,000 would be on campus during the day. LOTS of people just tailgate & if they don't have a ticket they either watch at a tailgate party or leave right before the game starts. We all left about 5:30 to go to our house to watch the game. It was a fun night until overtime. Oh well.

This morning Sheri, Kitzia & I went for a walk. It was 41 degrees! I did a good job dressing because I wasn't cold.

How was y'alls weekend?

The Weekend

I think I'm a sucker for a gimmick. I'm a sucker about a lot of things actually. I saw on Facebook Thursday something called a Franken Frap at Starbucks & I made it my mission to have one. Halloween was the last day they would serve it. Of course now that I think about it I'm pretty sure you can get one anytime of the year it just isn't called a Franken Frap. ANYWAY, Friday after work I had to go to Sam's to get Halloween candy so on the way home I stopped at Starbucks.

This thing tasted exactly like a York Peppermint Paddy. Like EXACTLY! It was good. I don't know all the details but it's made with green tea, chocolate chips along with other stuff. Since my eating has been so bad I just went with the whip. Why not right?

I think I told y'all my friend Cindy was raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society & she's running Disney's Princess Half. We did a virtual 5K & these are our shirts Cindy made us.
The JAB Jog - JAB were Cindy's mom's initials. I thought the boxing gloves was really cute.

Rather than everyone handing out candy at each individual house the neighbors just brought all of our candy to Jackie's & sat in the driveway together & handed it out. I don't know who is raising these kids but for the most part trick or treat & thank you were not part of their vocabulary. Then there were the kids that weren't even dressed up. UGH!

Our neighborhood association has a party & we have this cute little train that gives rides to the kids. Once trick or treat was over the adults took a ride.

The older girls were going out & if you dressed up there wasn't a cover. When Allie heard that she threw together a costume. It's amazing how fast she went from "no way, I'm not dressing up" to finding a costume when she found out it was going to save her a few bucks.

Lumberjack/Brawny man. I don't know how she comes up with this stuff. She left the paper towels in the car at the bar but brought the ax with her.

Saturday I actually did some things around the house that were on my to do list. YAY!! There's plenty more to do but it's nice to have something done. Now I just have to make a trip to Goodwill & the library to drop off donations.

Lydia, Scott & Logan ran in a race Saturday evening. I went & watched & then went back home for the Ole Miss Auburn game. Most of our neighbor friends came over & we ate & watched the game.

Sunday was my last birthday celebration for the year. Allison, Vicki & I had brunch at Portico. Brunch is quickly becoming my favorite meal.

They have a build your own Bloody Mary bar. I don't love all Bloody Mary's so I stuck with a Mimosa.  I tasted Allison's & it was delicious!!! I'll have one next time. Those shrimp were so good!

Crab Cakes Benedict! Sooooo good!!!

Yesterday I voted on my way to work & surprisingly I didn't have to wait but about 5 minutes so I had time for a Starbucks stop.

My first red cup of the season. I know it's lame but the red cup makes me happy. The skinny caramel latte was good too!
