The Weekend

Our weekend was pretty busy again but I only have one picture to show for it.

Yes, that's a bottle of champagne (a small bottle) in a margarita - the Korbelrita. Y'all it was good! My friend Shauna's birthday was Sunday so Allison, Karen, Shauna & I celebrated at Agave Blue. I always feel bad when I'm at a Mexican restaurant that isn't Caliente. It's like I'm cheating but it wasn't my birthday so I didn't get to choose.

Saturday were the last 2 regular season LSU baseball games so I went to both of those with Dean. It was hot.  After the second game we went to Caliente with friends for dinner. Our favorite waitress is off on her trip around the country. She makes the best skinny margarita, hands down. Before she left she wrote down the recipe so that I could give it to the bartender when we're there. Saturday was the first time someone else made it. He followed directions well because it was delicious!

RIP Garmin Forerunner 110

My watch bit the dust last week. Sometimes it worked perfectly, sometimes not so much & then last week it just went kaput. I've been looking at some of the new Garmin's just to see what was out there  & there was one that wasn't crazy expensive & had all the features that I needed & then some. So Friday afternoon I saw that our local Fleet Feet had that exact watch on sale - $80 off. It was like it was a sign from God!! So now I'm the proud new owner of a Garmin Forerunner 235.

I used it for the first time Monday morning.

It does a ton of things! The heart rate monitor is in the wrist so you don't have to wear the strap. It also received text messages if you pair it to your phone. It syncs wirelessly to the app which I really like. I was very bad about hooking my old watch up to the computer to sync everything. Plus it's really cute!

Have a great day!

The Wedding Day

The 3900 Krewe had the first "kid" get married. We've been waiting since Thanksgiving Day for this! Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day. It wasn't too hot or too humid. Perfect for an outdoor wedding at 6:00.

The venue was very pretty. Everything that the bride wanted.

The Brides grandfather made all of her signs from driftwood.

Where you entered the reception.

The Father of the Bride did his own rendition of Bennie and the Jets & it was perfect!

See those slats in the deck that's the dance floor? Not a good idea. Heels get caught in the slats & people are stuck & have to have other people get down on the ground to get you out. I may speak from experience.

Me, Cindy &Suzy

Always a sign of a good wedding when people are barefoot or put on flip flops. It's also a sign that you keep getting stuck in the dance floor.

Me, the Bride, Jordan & Devin. Loved Alexandra's going away outfit.

Tori was a rock star. Jessie's Girl will never be the same!

Me, Devin, Thomas - now known as Fun Bobby, Erin & Claire

Alexandra's dress was beautiful & so her!

Mother of the bride, the bride & Dean

Two of our favorites. It's so hard to believe they're so grown up. They live next door & we moved in within a week of each other. AA was 6 & Alexandra was 12.

I'm not sure what we're supposed to do now. It's been all about the wedding for 6 months! I guess we move on to vacation!

Wedding Season

This weekend was a busy one. Friday I got my hair done.

I decided to get my hair cut off. I was getting tired of having it long. It doesn't look like that much hair here.

Here's the after.

We were at wedding #2 for the day on Saturday. Two weddings in one day that start 30 mins apart & are 30 minutes apart isn't an easy feat so we made one wedding & one reception.

You know it's a good reception where there's champagne.

There were mint juleps too & they were delicious!

The groom!

We've known Bill since he started college & now he's all grown up with a real job & everything!

Dean & the bride

We threw silver streamers when they left.

We walked across the street to watch the Kentucky Derby & we had dinner down the street at Restaurant IPO. It was really good.

Sunday my neighbors brought me flowers for Mother's Day. Those two are super sweet.

Our parents, Scott, Lydia & Logan came over for lunch yesterday before Dean & his parents went to the LSU game. Logan got in the pool for a bit & said it was "a little bit cold". It was more than a little bit cold. We had the most awesome weather last week. No humidity & it was in the 50's in the mornings. Awesome but not conducive to warming up pool water.

I'm hoping the water is warm enough for me to float around Sunday. Yes, I'm planning a week ahead. We have another wedding Saturday night & I plan to do nothing Sunday.

The Weekend

This weekend was the Church Fair at Logan's school. They have a 5K & a 1 mi. fun run that we usually all run. The weather was really iffy.

We had to take a pre race picture. Logan's hair is starting to grow out. He decided to cut it one day.

The fun run was first.

Logan won!! He ran the mile in 7:44!

Me, Lydia & Scott all ran the 5K. I was thankful the sun wasn't out because it was a warm day.

Scott won the 5K. He ran it in 18 something. The course was an out & back & I wasn't all the way "out" yet & he was on his way back!

My official time was 28:54. It wasn't a PR this time but it wasn't too far from it. I did well enough to get 2nd place in my age group & I was the 4th overall female. It's a small race so don't be too impressed.

After the race I went to my parents & hung out there for awhile & then headed home to take a nap. My timing was awful because I had to drive in a monsoon the majority of the way home.

We had a couples shower Saturday night. It was a Mexican Fiesta theme & the food was delicious! We managed not to take a single picture. After the shower our group headed to a new restaurant for drinks.

Sunday morning I went to brunch with Allison. We went to Cafe Americain which neither of us had ever been too. It was really good.

The mimosa's were delicious!

We decided to "build" our own brunch & try a bunch of sides.

The shrimp & grits could've been a meal in itself. They were really good. We also had hash browns with Gouda, sweet potato pecan pancakes that were amazing & Bailey's french toast! We'll definitely be going back. Again I drove in a monsoon to get there. I'm tired of rain.

Dean & I spent the afternoon buying him a seersucker suit to wear to one of the weddings we have coming up. I finally found a dress last week so we're all set.

The rain held off until later Monday morning so I was able to get a run in.

I'm not training for anything at the moment & I haven't been as focused on my running & workouts as I was in the past which really annoys me. Nobody to blame but myself. It's been hard to make myself get out of bed at 4:30. I'm hoping to get back on track this week. Even though I turned off the alarm this morning.
