The Grass Eating Moo Cow

Is staying.... Yes, the daily Les Miles saga ended yesterday. The "Grass Eating Moo Cow" isn't going to Michigan. Those were my friend Wendy's exact words. I'm still laughing!  What's really funny is that Wendy really likes Les! Imagine what's being said by all the people that really don't like him. I personally don't have a problem with him except for the fact that when you listen to him talk you either want to yell at him to "spit it out" because he ums & ahs so much or you have no idea what he just said. Ever heard the term talking in circles? That would be Les. Some of you may be wondering why Wendy called him a grass eating Moo Cow. Well that would be because he eats grass. You think I'm kidding?
(I found this pic saturdaydownsouth.com)
During the Bama game they showed him pick a blade of grass & eat it. The game was on National  TV so everyone saw it & it was all over everywhere. When asked about it Les said this.... "I'll put my knee on the ground and look for a small blade now and then. You might try it. It's not a bad deal. I suspect it's better than chewing tobacco and some other things that people put in their mouths. I've always seemed to enjoy a blade or two now and then, not that this was a meal in any way but more of kind of being in touch with where I was at.". I'm so glad it wasn't a meal Les.... He's our coach & thanks to the contract extension he received yesterday, he will be for the next 7 years!

Moving on. Right after Christmas I received an email from Nine West that they were having a sale. Of course I checked things out. I found a super cute pair of black closed toe heels. I don't have any of those. They were on sale & then there was an additional percentage off. My total price with tax & shipping was $25. Aren't they great?
I love them! I'm wearing them for the first time today. The original price for these was $70. I love a deal!

Hungry anyone??

My camera came in the other day! WOO HOO!! I was excited. It took forever! Anyway, it's here & so far I really like it. The only pictures I've taken were of stuff in the living room while I was laying on the sofa watching TV. I did load the software on to my computer, get the battery installed & set the date. I had every intention of reading through the manual to figure out how to work it but of course it doesn't have a manual. Just a quick start-up guide. To read the manual I have to go online. I hate doing that. Oh well, I'll give it a try.

I was surprised to see how small the camera was. I knew it was going to be smaller than what I had but this thing is smaller than my iPhone!
It's PINK too!!! How cute is that?? This thing is going to be great! It will fit in a pocket! Now I'm on a mission to find a cute little case for it. I can't carry around a camera as cute as this in an old ugly black case can I??

Moving on. Thursday night Dean & I joined Cliff & Sheri at a wine tasting. It was a fundraiser for Boys Hope/Girls Hope of Baton Rouge. The wine tasting was at Texas de Brazil. There was wine, wine, wine & appetizers. There was this one that was advocado on a cracker thingy with a boiled shrimp on top. DELISH!!!!

Dean & I were both off Friday. We went to Lowe's & Sam's. I LOVE SAM'S!!! Seriously, love love love. I know some people wouldn't be caught dead buying clothes at Sam's, but I'm not one of those people. I found these flip flops. They are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever put on my feet!! The were marked down to $9.71. Can't beat that!!
Sam's always has name brand clothes. This sweater is Kenneth Cole & it was $18.
This one is Izod. I think it was $16.
After Sam's & Lowe's, we had lunch at DeAngelo's. They have really great pizza & the slices are huge!
My favorite is the Cheesy Italian. Sooo good. This morning I got up really early to go have my hair cut & highlighted. I'm really happy I was able to get that done. My hair was getting a tad flat & I don't do flat hair.

The rest of the afternoon was spent working in the backyard. Ugghhh!! Note to self, when you want the entire backyard landscaped remember that means the entire backyard will need to be weeded & re-mulched. Dean did the front yard Thursday when he was off. 13 bales of pine straw later he was finished. We put 20 down today in the backyard around the pool. We still have 2 beds to go but they're not really big so it shouldn't take long. Thankfully, the weather was somewhat cooperative. It was only 77 when we were working.

We went to Mass this afternoon & then stopped at Mike Anderson's to eat. Seems like we did an awful lot of eating this weekend. Anyway, it was delish as usual. We had a group of 18 high school kids sitting next to us. They were going to homecoming. One of the girls had on the most AWESOME pair of shoes I've ever seen!! I refrained from asking the 15 yr. old where she got them but oh they were greatness. Gold glitter heels, ribbon, GREATNESS!!! I think I'm suffering from shoe withdrawals. When I was going to Communion the lady next to me had on a fabulous pair too! The pair of flip flops I got at Sam's are the first pair of shoes I've bought since I can't remember when. I haven't bought a purse since Christmas either!

So, now we're home watching this sorry excuse for a football game. LSU is winning but this is one of the most boring games I've ever watched. I'm thinking tomorrow is going to be a day filled with a whole lot of nothing!!

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

It's been awhile since I've done this but I just couldn't resist. I bought shoes!!!! Not just one pair....not two....yep THREE pair! I figured out earlier in the week that I could really use a pair of flip flops for yard work. You know, something that I could hose off. There was a Shoe Station coupon in the paper. Never, ever buy shoes at Shoe Station without a coupon. They're ALWAYS in the paper. So, I got these.

I'm proud to say this is my FIRST pair of Crocs. Yep, it's true. I've resisted the Croc trend. I just couldn't ever see myself wearing plastic shoes. However, they seem pretty comfy & they can be hosed off. There were some cute colors but I just stuck with black so they'll go with everything. I'm kinda funny about stuff matching. I also "need" a pair of black casual flip flops. I have a cute pair that I really like but they're old & I've worn the sole slick to the point of almost killing myself. OK, so I wasn't really close to killing myself but I was close to breaking something & it scared the neighbors dog. When I saw these Yellow Box I swooned!

This isn't a good picture. They're black with silver sparklies! LOVE THEM! They look really cute on with all that shimmer. My pink toe polish really shows up good with them.  I wore them tonight, that's how I know. So, I thought my shoe shopping was done. I was on my way to pay & then I spotted these. Albeit on a ladies feet but it was like they were calling my name. They were sooooo cute!!! I looked & the only pair I saw were the ones on the ladies feet. I started to panic! It brought back memories of that time when my friends & I were in Maison Blanche shopping for our weekly "going out outfit" back in the day & I saw a shirt I wanted. Only problem, a lady was carrying it around. I made Ian (my friend, who at the time was dating my other friend, who are now married) follow her around in case she decided against it & set it down. It paid off, she set it down, Ian picked it up & I bought it. I still remember exactly what it looked like. I bet Ian does too. I'll have to ask him. Back to the shoes. I started to panic but then I spotted them on the shelf. How fabulous are these???

I think they're DIVINE!!! Dean? Not so much. He walked in & saw the bag on the table & said "Uh oh, I see 2 boxes". Then he remembered that Crocs don't come in boxes! When I told him how hard I tried to pass these up, he laughed. His response when he saw them?? "You couldn't pass THOSE up??"  Seriously??? I LOVE THEM!!! They're Volatile so they're comfy too.

I didn't buy anything else. I looked for a dress to wear to my friend Katie's wedding in July but I didn't find anything. I tried on some but nothing was oh so great.

I'm so glad the weekend is here!!!

Day 1

Technically I guess this is day 2  but I haven't completed day 2 so I still consider it day 1. What am I talking about? I finally started the exercise program on the Wii. I've boxed & played tennis on the Wii but no exercising & I've had the game for over a month. I got the EA Active not Wii Fit because I know how I am so I didn't want to spend an additional $40 for Wii Fit for it to end up in the corner with the elliptical or in the closet with the dumbells & exercise ball. Lydia has the EA Active & likes it & she runs so I knew I could trust her judgement. I put in all my info. It even has a place for you to do your body type. I chose to start the 30 day program. Although, I can tell you right now I'm not going to do it 30 consecutive days. I'll never finish the 30 days if I attempt that. I'm not going to say I enjoyed the "workout" but I didn't hate it. That's something right?

Surprisngly, I liked the running a lot. Maybe because they break it up so you only run a couple of minutes at a time. I REALLY liked the boxing, although I was reminded why I've never been an athelete. Along with the lack of motivation, competitive spirit, laziness & sheer lack of talent, I'm also a bit uncoordinated apparently. I got the hang of it after a bit. I also learned that although I'm right handed, my left arm is stronger. At least I think so. It was shattering the little target thingys when I hit them but when I used my right arm it didn't. I also learned that I really should wear shoes when I do this. I didn't know there would be running & jumping. I guess I thought it was going to be more of an aerobic type thing.

The game also lets you pick a male or female trainer. I chose a female. She tells you if your form is right & how you're doing. It's pretty cool. I did the low intensity workout since it was the first time & I was hot & a little tired when I was done. I'm not in good shape so I wanted to start slow. There's a part that you do inline skating & you have to jump. Who knew that jumping wasn't my strong suit? After I finished that part the little trainer lady said that "you need to get those legs stronger so this activity doesn't own you". Yeh I KNOW I need leg strength. My legs are why I'm doing this.  Maybe I'll do better when I have shoes on. At the end of the workout which lasted 24 minutes I burned 96.6 calories. WOW - I didn't burn the calories of one Dr. Pepper that I drank yesterday. I guess it's a start. I think I'm going to try & do it before I eat because I can tell you when I finished the thought of food made me nauseous!

On to more interesting things. Monday there was a Macy's ad in the paper & they had a pair of very cute shoes on sale. Of course, as usual, I had a coupon. Whoo hoo! I have a Macy's card that I got when I was buying a dress for a Mardi Gras Ball one year & they sucked me in with the "15% off your purchase today if you sign up" deal. Now, they send me coupons all the time. It said in the ad that these particular shoes come in navy. Yay yay yay!!! I have one navy pair of shoes that are on their last leg. It seems that shoe manufacturers think navy shoes are only for mawmaw's. I've looked forever for a pair in a cute style & nothing. But alas, here they are. The sale started yesterday. Imagine my surprise when Dean was getting ready to leave for work when he came & said "I hate to tell you this because it's going to cost me" & then he showed me that his shoe was coming apart. What does this have to do with me you ask?? WELL, for some reason it always works out that when we're buying Dean a pair of shoes I end up buying like 2 pair! I told him about the Macy shoes & how weird it was that his shoe picked that day to fall apart & it must be an ESP type thing. He laughed, gave me that look & said that he was sure that's what it was. HAHAHAHA! Anyway, Macy's at lunch, EPIC FAIL....... They didn't have the shoes in navy. But it said so in the salepaper. The guy said all the stores don't get all the shoes in the paper. Now that's just stupid! So, the search continues.

I Went Shopping!

Before the cruise I went shopping. I just wanted to see if I saw anything cute that I had to have. I found a few things. I keep hearing about the greatness that is Forever 21 & I just haven't seen it UNTIL this trip! Being that I'm not in my 20's anymore there's lots of things in this store that I cannot wear but if you're willing to look, you can find some cute stuff. Beware of their return policy. No refunds whether you have a receipt or not. I'm not crazy about that because I go to the mall at lunch & pick up things then I try on once I get home & if I don't like something it goes back. Anyway, the main thing I was looking for was a black sweater. Just something light but that was a little dressier than a jacket. I found this. I thought it was perfect!

I saw this top & at first I wasn't sure about it.

The more I looked at it the more I liked it. I'm so glad I bought it because it looks cute on & the material is really soft. It doesn't need a lot of ironing either.

I thought this was a cute casual top for the summer to wear with shorts.

I really love Forever 21's prices. I got all 3 things for $40 including tax. Not bad for a quick trip to the mall at lunch!

I'm in DSW's reward club or whatever it is they call it & I get emails from them periodically. Right before we left on the cruise I got an email saying that clearance stuff was an additional 50% off. Of course I didn't need any shoes but when has that ever stopped me?? I was excited to find these.

With the additional discount they were $10! I can always use flip flops & I loved the plaid & they're Tommy Hilfiger.

Then I saw these

my heart nearly stopped! I LOVED them! They were $15. I was thrilled that they still had my size. So with shipping my total is like $33. At DSW since I'm a reward member if I spend $35 I get free shipping. Well, far be it from me to pass up a deal. It would be in my best interest to buy a 3rd pair of shoes & reach the $35 point & get free shipping. That way I get 3 pairs of shoes for what 2 pair with shipping would've cost!! It took me a bit to explain this to Dean so that he understood that I was saving money by getting 3 pair. I found these.

They were $12. Just a basic pair of black peep toes. Of course I am a bit concerned that all of them won't fit. You just never know when you don't try them on. When we got home from the cruise I had a huge box waiting for me & all 3 pair fit!! They are all so cute! They look even better in person & the peep toes are REALLY comfortable!

Saturday morning Dean & I went to Sam's. As much as I hate Walmart, I love Sam's. I know it's weird but you never know what you'll find & I used to work there & actually liked it. Well, all of it except the dealing with the public part. Anyway, I was going with the intention of buying a Wii. They're sold out. It figures. The problem with Sam's is, you always come out with more than you went in for even when they're sold out of the main thing you went for. I ended up with this.

Just a basic white top but I thought it was cute. It's got a little band around the sleeves & it's thicker than a t-shirt. I can always use white tops. It's Ann Klein & was $10. Can't beat that. I also found this

A baby pink Izod sweater for $15. I wore it yesterday with my pearls. I felt like Jen Lancaster! Then I found this

For whatever reason I loved it! I just like the little ruffly type collar & the color. I don't have anything this color so I thought it would be a nice addition to my wardrobe. The picture doesn't show the color very well. It's actually a bright green. Soooo pretty! The best part? It was $10. Couldn't pass it up. The lesson here is to always look at the clothes at Sam's. You never know what they might have!

More Shoes!

I was so excited when I got home from work yesterday. I had a package. I LOVE getting mail & packages. Not bills & stuff but fun mail, like Christmas cards & checks. Speaking of I haven't gotten any Christmas cards yet. Anyway, this particular package was Christmas gifts I'd ordered for someone but it's still a package. Then at about 8:00 the doorbell rang. It was the UPS man. I really LOVE UPS packages. This one was for me!

The color doesn't show up really good in the picture but they're brown & the part that says Skechers is a shimmery bronze color. I love them!!

I'm still not finished decorating. After a quick trip to Hobby Lobby this afternoon I'm hoping to have everything done. Then I can move on to wrapping presents. Not to mention I have a huge backlog of stuff on the DVR. I can't watch stuff this week because I haven't watched last weeks. Just a never ending cycle.
