Weekend Fun

Considering we didn't have any plans this weekend we ended up being kinda busy. We did our usual Friday night dinner out. This week it was Mike Anderson's. This has always been my favorite seafood restaurant in town. I was disappointed & so was Dean. Everything was good just not great like it normally is. When we got home we bought this on pay per view.
I wanted to see it when it was at the movies but we never got around to it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE McConaughey & this movie was great!! Dean really liked it too. I highly recommend it.

I've mentioned how much it's been raining at out house. Saturday morning the sun was out so we were out too. Dean finally got the grass cut & I pulled weeds.  Between being on vacation & it raining everyday since they were a little out of control. It was soooo HOT!!! The heat index was 101 but it felt hotter than that. We ended up going to Mass & then to the movies to see
Again, I LOVED this movie. I'm NOT a fan of Justin Timberlake but he was really good in the movie. It had a lot of really funny parts too. I'm not giving anything away but there was one scene at the end that I thought was GREATNESS & is, in my opinion, one of the greatest movie scenes ever!  Now I want to see Crazy Stupid Love. Has anyone seen it? After the movie we had dinner at Portobello's. It was so good. I had lasagna.

Yesterday was our low key day. We went to Fresh Market for the first time. We wanted to get some blue cheese stuffed burgers that our neighbors told us about. We're going to cook them tonight. I was surprised at the store because I was expecting it to be big like Whole Foods but it reminded me more of just a small, local market. Then it was home to do laundry. I ironed & caught up on all my shows on the DVR. Seriously, I can't believe I'm still watching RHONY. Those women drive me crazy. Thankfully, the season's over.

Last night we went to our neighbors for dinner. They grilled burgers & hot dogs. It was to celebrate their daughter, Anna  & our other neighbor, Suzy for completing their first triathlons. Suzy won her age group. I was talked into doing a 5K. I mentioned that Lydia talked me into one in Dec. Well, my neighbor Sheri talked me into one in Nov. She's been doing C25K & is very excited about it. I'm waiting on the date so I can figure out when I need to start training. I really can't believe I'm doing this. Wendy & I were talking about it this morning. She says she wants to do a 5K & finish but she doesn't care how long it takes her. I want to finish but if it looks like I'm going to be last I'm baling! She says that's an epic fail. I see it as keeping myself from being totally embarrassed.

All Things Christmas!

Well that 3 day weekend flew by! It also flew by without me taking a nap. I honestly can't remember the last time that happened. I left work a little early Thursday & made a Hob Lob run. Yes, I know, I think I have a problem. I've been to that store entirely too much lately. I also had a really strange experience. I walked up to a register, didn't have to stand in line & the cashier spoke English. WOO HOO!! Seriously, this NEVER happens. When I got home Dean had the big tree up & all the lights were working. It's pre lit but you just never know when something is gonna go wrong.

Friday morning we got up bright & early & went to Sam's. Thanks to my brother Scott, we have a business membership & can get in early before the crowd. Have I mentioned how much I love Sam's?? This trip I found a pair of Bandolino jeans for $15. I didn't think they'd fit because that would be too easy but they do!!! I even picked up a couple of Christmas gifts & some ornaments. Just what I need, more ornaments. Problem maybe?? We made a few other stops & got the majority of our Christmas shopping done which was FAB!! For lunch we met Dean's parents at Mike Anderson's. Speaking of FAB!! LOVE LOVE LOVE Mike Anderson's!! Best seafood ever! Thanks Mrs. Joyce & Mr. Andrew!! Once we got home I started decorating. Oooh I have to interrupt myself. I just got an email that New Kids On The Block are coming to Lafayette in June!!! WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!! I LOVE NKOTB. This is the big tour with the Back Street Boys. I can't wait!!!! Tickets go on sale in a couple of weeks so now I have to find a connection to get good seats. Anybody know anyone that works at the Cajundome???

Moving on. I got a good bit of work done on my tree Friday night. I made a confession Friday night. As I mentioned earlier I think I have a problem. A Christmas problem. I have A LOT of Christmas stuff & ornaments. I think it's time I cut myself off. I hate to do it but it's gotten bad. Here's a sneak peek of a portion of my "stuff".

My house was the biggest mess. Thankfully, I finished the tree Saturday & Sunday I moved on to the smaller tree in the kitchen. I'm not finished with it but we were able to put the table back in it's place & pick up a bit. Yesterday, we got the stuff around the front door outside done & I worked on a wreath. I was up to my eyeballs in wreath making stuff. This is just some of it.
I was able to finish the wreath for my friend Vicki. Pics to come later but I like how it turned out.

On the bird front. One of my friends, Mrs. Carolyn suggested I get some fake rubber snakes to put on top of the places where the birds hang out. Well, I've been looking & all I can find are rubber snakes that are  fluorescent colors. I'm thinking the birds will even know they're not real. SO, if anyone knows where to get  regular looking rubber snakes I'm all ears.

Speaking of the birds. I know. Really, I am going to stop talking about them BUT all this started because they poop on everything. Well, guess what Dean found on the patio by the pool Thursday??? RABBIT POOP!!! Now I don't mind a cute little rabbit hanging out & lounging by the pool but couldn't it do it's bunny business in the grass???

Hungry anyone??

My camera came in the other day! WOO HOO!! I was excited. It took forever! Anyway, it's here & so far I really like it. The only pictures I've taken were of stuff in the living room while I was laying on the sofa watching TV. I did load the software on to my computer, get the battery installed & set the date. I had every intention of reading through the manual to figure out how to work it but of course it doesn't have a manual. Just a quick start-up guide. To read the manual I have to go online. I hate doing that. Oh well, I'll give it a try.

I was surprised to see how small the camera was. I knew it was going to be smaller than what I had but this thing is smaller than my iPhone!
It's PINK too!!! How cute is that?? This thing is going to be great! It will fit in a pocket! Now I'm on a mission to find a cute little case for it. I can't carry around a camera as cute as this in an old ugly black case can I??

Moving on. Thursday night Dean & I joined Cliff & Sheri at a wine tasting. It was a fundraiser for Boys Hope/Girls Hope of Baton Rouge. The wine tasting was at Texas de Brazil. There was wine, wine, wine & appetizers. There was this one that was advocado on a cracker thingy with a boiled shrimp on top. DELISH!!!!

Dean & I were both off Friday. We went to Lowe's & Sam's. I LOVE SAM'S!!! Seriously, love love love. I know some people wouldn't be caught dead buying clothes at Sam's, but I'm not one of those people. I found these flip flops. They are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever put on my feet!! The were marked down to $9.71. Can't beat that!!
Sam's always has name brand clothes. This sweater is Kenneth Cole & it was $18.
This one is Izod. I think it was $16.
After Sam's & Lowe's, we had lunch at DeAngelo's. They have really great pizza & the slices are huge!
My favorite is the Cheesy Italian. Sooo good. This morning I got up really early to go have my hair cut & highlighted. I'm really happy I was able to get that done. My hair was getting a tad flat & I don't do flat hair.

The rest of the afternoon was spent working in the backyard. Ugghhh!! Note to self, when you want the entire backyard landscaped remember that means the entire backyard will need to be weeded & re-mulched. Dean did the front yard Thursday when he was off. 13 bales of pine straw later he was finished. We put 20 down today in the backyard around the pool. We still have 2 beds to go but they're not really big so it shouldn't take long. Thankfully, the weather was somewhat cooperative. It was only 77 when we were working.

We went to Mass this afternoon & then stopped at Mike Anderson's to eat. Seems like we did an awful lot of eating this weekend. Anyway, it was delish as usual. We had a group of 18 high school kids sitting next to us. They were going to homecoming. One of the girls had on the most AWESOME pair of shoes I've ever seen!! I refrained from asking the 15 yr. old where she got them but oh they were greatness. Gold glitter heels, ribbon, GREATNESS!!! I think I'm suffering from shoe withdrawals. When I was going to Communion the lady next to me had on a fabulous pair too! The pair of flip flops I got at Sam's are the first pair of shoes I've bought since I can't remember when. I haven't bought a purse since Christmas either!

So, now we're home watching this sorry excuse for a football game. LSU is winning but this is one of the most boring games I've ever watched. I'm thinking tomorrow is going to be a day filled with a whole lot of nothing!!
