WOW!

We're home & Christmas is over. Hard to believe. We had a fabulous time at Universal & Disney with our friends & came home to a wonderful Christmas with our families!

I tried to post while we were on our trip but it just didn't happen much. We were up early & out late. In my last post I had the "glow" drink. A few people were asking me about it. The "ice cube", that it isn't ice but plastic, is what glows. It has a little switch that turns it on & off. Too cute!

I posted a little about Universal already. My favorite thing was Whoville! The Who's were walking all over. They were so cute!

Me & Amelia-Ann at Universal.
Sunday we spent the morning at Universal before going to Disney. Sunday night was Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We rode tons of stuff & watched the parade.
This is Stafford, Dawn, Miles, Amelia-Ann, MacKenzie & MacCullen on the Monorail on the way to the party. It was cold that night!
Me & Allie waiting on the train.
This, my friends, is Cliff "The Disney Nazi". He knows all the ins & outs of Disney & makes sure we get everything done. Yes, he did wear that hat all over Disney. It was great because he was easy to spot in a crowd!!
The Castle was GORGEOUS!!!

I guess that's enough for now!

A Tour

Yes, it's another post about Christmas decorations. I'm linking to Kara's blog for
This is her first party & it's anything Christmas this week. I love Kara & her blog! She's funny & a FABULOUS decorator. So that's why this is another post about Christmas decorations. Not to mention that I'm not having the best day. Forgetting the maid is coming & turning the alarm on only to go speeding home from work after only being there 30 mins. to get there 2 minutes too late doesn't lead to a great start to the day. Anyway, Christmas makes me happy so here we go.

Welcome to our house!
I did the garland & wreaths & my hubby hung it all up. The topiaries came from Sam's a couple of years ago.
This is the table in the breakfast area. It's an iPhone pic so it's not very clear. The server in the background has my Nativity on it. I did a post about it already.
Another iPhone pic. This is an iron Christmas Tree I got one year after Christmas. The penguins I bought this year at Z Gallerie just because I like them. I know they don't go with anything really but I like them. I added the little bows around their necks. They remind me of "back in the day". It's a long boring story for anyone that doesn't know it already but suffice it to say one of my friends knew EVERY.SINGLE.WORD of Billy Madison & recited it OFTEN!
This little tree is in the hall bathroom. I bought it at Lowe's last year for like $5.00!
This is the built-ins above the TV. Nothing fancy.
Here's a close up of The Holy Family. I bought it at an after Christmas sale too. It's gold but not quite this shade. It's really hard to get good pics of decorations.
The chandy in the dining room. I had some extra ornaments so I put them here.
The "Big" tree in the living room. It's decorated in burgundy & gold. I promise it's not crooked.
The "Big" tree during the day.
Another view at night just because I like it.
The smaller tree that I have in the kitchen. It's done in red, green & silver & has all of our ornaments that we've collected on trips. I bought this tree on sale at Hob Lob after Christmas last year.

This has  nothing to do with Christmas but I won a giveaway from Kara! The candle smells so good & the cookbook looks like there are some recipes that I may be able to do!! The roosters are salt & pepper shakers. Aren't they cute?

In 25 hours we'll be leaving for Disney!! It can't get here soon enough.

We do more before second breakfast....

Then you do all day!! That, my friends, is our Disney motto. We leave on the 16th for a week at Universal & Disney. Everyone is soooo excited. We have a group of 24 making the trip this time. We always have several "planning" meetings before we leave for Disney. Yes, we may be a bit crazy, but it's fun! Last night was our last "Pre Disney Pow Wow" as I've named it. We had homemade salsa, guacamole, gumbo, salad, bread & dessert. Of course there was wine too. How cute is this??
It tasted as good as it looked. It says 3900 Krewe & more. The last Disney trip we dubbed ourselves "the 3900 Krewe" because 7 of 8 houses on our street went & all of our addresses start with 39. The "And More" comes in because an additional family is going this time but they live around the corner.

The presentation begins....
Yes that is a dry erase board. All the hours for all of the parks are noted.
Cliff aka "The Disney Nazi" is trying to make a point regarding wake up times & catching the bus. His 5:48 am plan wasn't going over so well with some. I can't wait to leave!!!

So it's Saturday afternoon now. Me & my mom went shopping today. I didn't buy a ton of stuff but I picked up a few things & we had lunch at Five Guys. We tried to go awhile back but the line was out the door. They just opened in Baton Rouge a couple of months ago. We were in the area so we decided to try again. We were in luck that it was 11:30. We were able to order & get our food before the line was well out of the door. The burger was great!!

Now I'm on my way to Mass & then to dinner with my friend Vicki & my Godchild Lane.

It's Been A Weird Day

I learned a few things last night. I'll back up. Allie (same Allie from the last post) was 16 yesterday. She shares a birthday with my brother who was 33. That just really makes me feel old to say my little brother is 33. Uggghhhhh! Anyway, Dean & I were invited along with some other friends to go eat at DeAngelo's for Allie's birthday. Tuesday is trivia night. We've never been to Trivia Night before & weren't sure what to expect. It was sooo much fun! I figured unless they asked questions about very random things, I wouldn't be much help. The very first question was what was Tupac's real name? Well, everyone at the table looks at me because they know I'm the only one that might know this. I didn't. If they would've just asked what Snoop's real name was! Come to find out Tupac Shakur was his real name. I didn't know that. I also didn't know that Kraft made Velveeta. I thought Velveeta was it's own thing. Needless to say we didn't win.

Today was a ponytail day. That means I have extra time in the morning. This morning before I left for work I managed to fold a load of clothes, eat breakfast, fix my lunch & stop at the store & buy some knock off Splenda! I deem the day a success!

Oh, something else I learned is that 20 oz. Dr. Peppers are cheaper buying them out of the machine at my office then they are at Walmart. $1.48 vs. $1.25. Who would've thought that??

At lunch I went to Lowe's to pick up a few things.  I love Lowe's! Today was an interesting trip. I was looking for Jo Max. This stuff is great for cleaning stuff outside. I can never remember where it's at but Dean said at this time of the year it's always at the end of an aisle. Yeh, always, except when I'm there by myself. I asked someone & while he was very nice, he didn't know what I was talking about & when I explained what it was he sent me to lawn & garden which I knew wasn't right. Luckily, I saw someone else & he directed me to the right spot. For future reference, it's on the same aisle as the stain. So, as I'm walking across the store I see a guy wearing something that looks a little strange. I look again & I see that it's a glove. Not like a work glove or anything, it's a Michael Jackson glove. You know like from back in the day when he wore one glove?  It looked exactly like it. White with sparkles or rhinestones or whatever it is!! Now, some of you may think that this guy was a "heeeyy" (if you listen to Kidd Kraddick you know that means living an alternative lifestyle) but he didn't look like it. I know looks may be deceiving but he was a big guy, dressed like he'd been outside doing manual labor. He was with a couple of other guys that looked to be his co-workers. I couldn't tell if he was wearing a ring because the glove was on his left hand. I don't remember which hand M.J. wore his on but I was thinking it was his right. I tried really hard to take a picture but the iPhone camera isn't exactly conducive to taking pictures of moving objects. It kept coming out blurry so I gave up. I wonder if he was just a huge fan & that's how he's paying tribute to M.J. or if he's just some sort of weirdo??

I'm very excited to announce that our next Disney vacation is booked!!! YAY!!!! We will be staying at the Coronado Springs. I'm very excited!

Why Don't We Work 2 Days & Have A 5 Day Weekend?????

Sunday is here. Of course you know what that means. Tomorrow is Monday. Yuck! Whoever came up with this work 5 days & be off 2 needs to be shot. This weekend wasn't a busy one which I guess is a good thing. I got a lot of rest. Friday night we went to the LSU game. They lost. I think that was the first game this season that I stayed the entire 9 innings. I'm wondering if I jinxed them. Baseball people are very superstitious you know. After the game we were talking with friends & I was able to try on this.

This is the 2009 National Championship ring the LSU Baseball team got. It's HUGE!!!!!

Saturday, I planned to go the game but the closer it got to gametime the more it looked like it was going to storm. I was not sitting in the rain. Been there done that & it's not happening again! I decided to take a nap. 4 hours later I woke up. Yep, I said 4 hours. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that BUT I figure if I slept that long I must have needed it. When I got up it was time to go to our friends Dennis & Jackie's. Luckily, they live 2 houses down so there's no travel time. Our old neighbors moved to New Mexico last year & their 3 girls were in town for spring break. We were getting together to visit with them because they were going home today. The game was on TV so we watched the end. They won. I wasn't there, hmmm.

I just realized that all the good pictures we took aren't on my camera.  This is Sarah, Allie, Amelia-Ann, Emily & Alli. Sarah, Emily & Alli are the girls that live in N.M. I really miss them. They're so sweet & they were always around. It's been hard to get used to someone else living in their house. Especially because we never see the new people! We were there along with 3 other houses on our street. The evening quickly turned into a vacation planning meeting. The 3900 Crew (that's what the teenagers came up with last time we went to Disney since all of our addresses are 3900 something) is planning a December trip to Disney. I'm very very excited! I love Disney & Universal!!!

This was the men giving their 2 cents on the trip. They had lots of opinions.

You can tell by the look on Sheri's face that this was one of the ridiculous suggestions one of the men had. Amelia-Ann set them straight real quick! She too had an opinion!!

Today I taught Sunday School. I just never know what I'm going to get. There was the week that the little boy told me he didn't have a mom because she died & this week I had a grandma tell me that if  her "soon to be former son in law" was to show up I was not to let him take his little girl. No biggie there, you just say if you didn't sign the kid in you can't sign them out. If he gives me too much trouble I've got secret service across the hall because the Governor's little boy is in the 5 yr. old class. Nana proceeds to tell me that her daughter is going through a very, very bad divorce & she's getting a restraining order tomorrow. This particular kid always gives me problems. She's very outspoken & doesn't have a shy bone in her body & she also doesn't listen well. Today was really bad. I just keep thinking that maybe her behavior is her trying to get attention due to the situation at home. Who knows. At the end of class the kids play & I was attempting to get them to pick up the toys by saying that "mama's & daddy's would be there soon". The little girl says to me "My nana is picking me up. My mom isn't feeling well AGAIN. She's sick AGAIN.  Sick sick sick. My daddy can't come because the policeman said he can't come around because my daddy says he's going to kill people". OK, Child Psychologist I am not, BUT WTH???? Why oh why would you tell or let your kid hear that??? I think this is just the beginning of lots of issues.

After Sunday School I did our grocery shopping  & I'm listening to the game. Nope, I didn't go again because today is FREEZING & the wind is blowing AGAIN at about 50 mph! I was so excited thinking spring was here. Well so much for that. At 10:30 last night when we came home it was like 70 degrees & at 6:30 this morning when we left for Mass it was 38!!!! Supposedly, it's supposed to be warm again Tuesday. We shall see!! I hope everyone had a good weekend & has a good week!
