Mardi Gras Wreaths

Today I'm joining a blog party at Between Naps On The Porch. It's called Metamorphosis Monday. Now that Christmas is over it's Mardi Gras season. I decided to make wreaths for my front door. This is what I started off with. I got these at Hobby Lobby after Christmas. My total price with tax was less than $6.00!!

This is some stuff I got at Red Door Interiors. The blob of stuff is purple, gold & green shiny garland.

This is a bunch of stuff that I got at several different places. The masks were actually Christmas decorations that I bought 50% off after Christmas at Louisiana Nursery. I'm not sure why they didn't just move them to the Mardi Gras decorations but I'm glad they didn't! The green bead garland was 80% off at Hobby Lobby after Christmas. The little jester guys were souvenirs from a Mardi Gras ball that we went to a couple of years ago. The ribbon was 50% off at Hobby Lobby as well. The little pics came from Red Door Interiors too.

This is the finished product.

This is how the front door looks.

Toodles!

  3. How pretty! I go to a Mardi Gras celebration every year to help raise money for a local school. I may have to send them this idea to use to decorate.

  5. Love the wreaths. Have to make my first one! Thank you. I moved here from Nebraska. Left my job as a nurse, friends and family and am very happy to find that there is life out there! Thanks for the restaurant tips and even the critter problems in your backyard. We came here last September and NO crawfish in the pool so far. lol...but I will keepn an eye out for the armadillos. ugh...Again...thanks for the blog...don't feel so alone and I will check back often!

  9. Thanks for all of the wonderful compliments! I don't do much Mardi Gras decorating but I wanted something this year. My door looked so bare after Christmas.

bskhound1 - we're big fans of Nebraska around here - Omaha anyway - I've been several times to watch LSU play in the College World Series.

Lori - Mardi Gras is HUGE here! We have people that take their Christmas ornaments off their trees & decorate them for Mardi Gras!

  11. We lived in Omaha! College World Series Ball is huge for the area. It was a wonderful place to live. Traffic was doable, great medical community and lots to do. sigh...I guess I'm just homesick..but I am sure EBR will grow on us.
