Food!

I seem to be doing a lot of food blogging these days.
This is how I started my weekend. Friday at work was a little rough. There are lots of rumors going around about our new owners & things that will be done. Lots of uncertainty. We ate at Walk On's, which is a local Baton Rouge restaurant that was started by 2 former LSU walk on basketball players.
Waffle cheese fries with banana peppers, green onions & bacon. SOOOOOO GOOD! I don't know what the dipping sauce was that came with it but it was amazing.
This is the Zydeco salad & the reason you should always try new things! It's fried shrimp with a sweet chili glaze, house dressing, peppers, mangos, candied pecans, jalapenos, cilantro & jack cheese topped with tortilla strips. I almost didn't try it because of the mangos & cilantro. I've never had a mango & I don't care for cilantro unless there's very little. It's too overpowering. Several people have told me how good this salad is so I tried it. Best decision ever! It was really good. I didn't finish it & I normally don't bring home leftover salad but there was no way I was leaving this behind. It was just as good the next day.
I had Yogurtland for dessert. Chocolate & French Vanilla with cheesecake bites & waffle cone pieces. I went to Yogurtland 3 times last week. I think I have a new addiction.

Saturday I ran 3.5 miles. YAY! I had lunch with my friend Allison. I had a cheeseburger from Dempsey's. Really good but just a cheeseburger so there are no pics. HA!

I had a momentary lapse in judgement & went to Super Walmart Saturday afternoon to pick up a few things. Seriously, that place is hell on earth. I decided I needed a treat.
All week I wanted either a Sonic or Chic-fil-A Dr. Pepper. Sonic won because it was easier to get to. It was happy hour so that was an added plus! It was delicious!

Sunday we spent Mother's Day at our house with our parents & my brother, sis in law & Logan.
We were watching Peppa Pig in what Logan refers to as "my room".  We played baseball too.
This picture cracks me up!  The sun was so bright I couldn't tell what pics I was taking.
In keeping with the food theme, Dean cooked shrimp fettuccine. It was delicious. I made a salad & a lemon ice box pie. Lydia made this.
I got the picture from Pinterest. It was really, really, really good! Everyone loved it. Lydia added blackberries to the top. I think it would be great for a 4th of July party too. I have to buy a trifle bowl so I can make it.

Needless to say I ate really well this weekend but it wasn't a healthy eating weekend. I'm back on track today!

4 days til the beach!!!!

Toodles!

Glad to see you are healing and able to workout again, although that squat stuff looks cra-zay! My knees would give out. :-)
Also glad to ready the update of the paper sale. I hope it does not affect you in any adverse ways.
CUTE pictures of the little ones!!
If I ever make it down your way, I am heading to Caliente for dinner!!
