When we last "spoke" I said I was postponing Weigh In Wednesday. I meant for like a day but one thing led to another & here we are on Sunday night so I'm just skipping it & will be back on track Wednesday.

I did lots of working out last week. Yoglates Sunday, Monday & Wednesday; Running Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday. Saturday I started Week 9 of C25K. Week 9 is the last week!! I honestly didn't think I would ever make it this far. Saturday my pace was 11:05 per mile so in the 30 mins. I'm running about 2.7 mi.  My first 5K is November 5th so I have time to improve.

Thursday evening we went downtown. The United Way chapter in our area has a jambalaya cook off every year. This is the second year it's been in the evening & this year there were bands too. My friends that work with me, Aaron & Stan, were cooking. We ate jambalaya & had drinks. There are lots of restaurants & bars downtown & several of them had specialty drinks they were giving out when you had a ticket for both food & drinks. Some of them were good, some not so much but it was a lot of fun.

Friday I took the day off. Dean had to work. Normally, we take off together or he's off without me because he gets a week more vacation than I do plus he has one Friday a month off. However, since he went to Alaska in August I now have more days left. I had such good intentions. I had a couple of returns to make, I needed some pants, the oil needed to be changed in my truck & my nails needed to be done. Well, one thing led to another & I forgot the stuff I needed to return.  I ended up getting the oil changed & my truck washed, I found 1 lousy pair of pants. When you lose 25 pounds aren't you supposed to be able to walk in any store & find stuff??? Loft was having a good sale & I got some tops there & I managed to find a pair of jeans at Dillard's. Other than that my shopping day was a bust.

I did have a delicious lunch. I walked right past Chick Fil A, Raising Canes, Izzo's & VooDoo BBQ at the food court & went to Jimmy Johns. I don't know if they're just in the south but I love it. I had a turkey sandwich on wheat bread & it was DELISH!! I even had a Dr Pepper. I hadn't had one in 2 weeks & since I had such a lousy shopping trip I needed something to cheer me up.

Next stop was the nail salon. I should've known better. 2:30 on a Friday afternoon the day before a home LSU football game?? What was I thinking?? There were like 30 people ahead of me. Needless to say I didn't wait. I went home & took a little nap!

Friday night we went with our neighbors to our Church Fundraiser. It was a silent & live auction along with dinner. Those of you that know me in real life will get a kick out of this. I ATE NESE!!! For those of you that  don't know me in real life, Nese is Chinese, Japanese, Lebanese & any other type of food ending in Nese. I don't eat Nese. Like ever. Well, the meal at Church was catered by Serops, a Lebanese joint in town. There was rice, chicken schwarma, pita's, hummus & those grape leaf stuffed things which Dean described as Lebanese boudin. The only thing I didn't care for were the grape leaves. The stuff inside was ok but it really wasn't my thing. The salad was really good. Before anyone gets carried away I'm not going out & eating Lebanese. I can make chicken & rice at home. This is just another example of how aliens must be invading my body - exercise, running, cooking  & now eating nese.....

There was also a desert martini bar. There was something called the Liontini that I tried & it was DELISH!!! Chambord, pineapple juice & vanilla vodka. Really good!

Saturday, LSU played at 2:30. I went for my run Saturday morning & then high tailed it into the shower so I could be at the nail salon as close to 9:00 as possible so I wouldn't have to wait too long. There was no need to rush. Nobody was there the entire time I was. I guess everyone was going to the game. Once I got home from the nail salon we didn't leave the house. I took a little nap before the game came on & then we watched football the rest of the night. By bedtime I was pretty much done with football.

Today we went to Mass at 7:00 & then grocery shopping. The rest of my day was spent on the sofa. Another nap, I read, watched the Saints & read some more.

Speaking of reading, I read 2.5 books this weekend. The Pretty Little Liar series is really good! My friend Wendy told me about them. They're young adult but they're really good.

So basically that's my long weekend in a nutshell. Nothing exciting but at least I wasn't at work right??

Toodles!

  2. LOL - Lebanese boudin! The only lebanese food I eat is what you ate (minus the grape leaves). Jimmy Johns... gotta look them up.

  3. Sounds like you had a very busy but nice weekend, Traci. And great feeling to be able to take a day off although I am off everyday now since moving to Natchez cause I never worked here. We just arrived last night from Charleston, SC and had a great time. Will post more about it soon. Have a great week!...Christine

  4. You had a pretty great week Traci! I know what you mean about a Dr Pepper being a "treat" and a pick me up. I miss them. I used to drink several a day. That was the one thing I quite cold turkey two years ago.

  6. I love Chinese, but it doesn't always love me. Works out best when I say "no msg" or "sauce on the side" - never have those issues with Japanese - which is weird.
Can't wait to hear how your 1st 5k goes! :) you have time, but it will be here before you know it!
