Weekend Wrap Up

Friday night was our usual out to dinner night. We went to a local BBQ place called Couyon's. I had a really good pulled pork sandwich. I love that they gave me a pile of dill pickles with my sandwich. I don't know what it is about BBQ but I HAVE to have dill pickles with it. YUM!! We walked next door after dinner & had frozen yogurt at Swirl.

Saturday I was up fairly early & pulled weeds while Dean cut the grass. It wasn't too ridiculously hot so that made it a lot better. I ended up taking a nap & just hanging out for most of the day. We went to Mass & then came home for the LSU game. Several of the neighbors came over to eat & watch the game. Anyone know what this is?
If you guessed frog you win!!! Notice I said frog, not frog legs. I thought you only ate the legs. I learned differently Saturday night. I've tasted frog legs before & I tasted again Sat. night. They really do taste like chicken but they're actually better I think. I didn't eat more because it actually looks like a headless frog. I couldn't really get past that. Dean also fried shrimp so that's what I ate. One of our neighbors, Dave, whose wife was out of town brought this.

He made it & it was DELISH!!! It was cheeses, artichokes, mushrooms & salami. Those olives you see are stuffed with Feta cheese. YUM!!!

The Tigers won so it made for a fun night. Next up is Kentucky at 11:20 am Saturday. For those non LSU peeps, LSU fans DO NOT like day games & especially not 11:20 ones. The game is in BR. We live about 3 miles from LSU so suffice it to say we'll be at home Saturday. Traffic is a nightmare & the road that our subdivision is on is a major thoroughfare to & from LSU. After the game contra flow is in effect so it's easier to just stay home. I'm already planning nachos for lunch while we watch the game. I've been craving them for a week & it's perfect football watching food.

Sunday I was going to a cousin in law's baby shower. I was going with my mom so I got to go hang out with Logan for a little while. He has a sinus infection.

Poor little pitiful thing. That didn't last long though. He was in a good mood & we played with trucks, he showed me how to work the DVD player & how he can tumble. Which led to him wanting me to tumble. Luckily, I distracted him.

Cheese!

Logan now doesn't want anyone to leave once they get there. When I told him I had to go he kept telling me "no, take shoes off".  He knows if you don't have shoes on you can't go outside. It was pitiful.

The shower was very nice. Baby Landry got all sorts of adorable stuff. She's going to be a really well dressed little girl.  I love shower food & It didn't disappoint. There were pinwheels (love!), finger sandwiches (why is it finger sandwiches taste better than regular sandwiches?), dips & this
Isn't that the most amazing cake ever??? What's even better is it came from Ambrosia Bakery. All my B.R. peeps know that they make the most amazing cakes! Again, this did not disappoint. It was so good I had 2 pieces & they were both loaded with icing. YUM! My cousin tried to send me home with cake but I refrained. I took one piece for Dean & that was it.

On a related note, Weigh In Wednesday will be moved to Thursday this week due in part to the shower cake & (I'm scared to weigh) & part because I have something else to post about tomorrow.

Yesterday morning I started Week 7 of C25K. I really can't believe I've been doing it that long. It doesn't seem like it. As of Friday, every run is at least 25 mins. straight. It went well Monday. Today I go to Yogalates for the first time this week.

Morons & Chicken

Sometimes I really wonder about people. Are they stupid, oblivious or what???  What am I talking about you ask?? Well, I have some pictures of Logan at my desk & a picture of him is my screen saver.  Someone I work with, I'll call him Bob (as in Marley-that just gave away the persons identity if you work with me!), says to me, "Is that your son?". Hmmmm, let's see. I've worked here for 15 years, I've been in this particular dept. for almost 5 years, I see Bob everyday & he's never seen me pregnant & I haven't been out of the office for an extended period of time, so WHY exactly does he think that Logan is my baby??? Moron!!

Moving on. Our house has been a little like Grand Central Station tonight. Our annual "Boil on the Bend" is Saturday. It's the crawfish boil we do every year. It got its name because the center island of the cul-de-sac is where the eating/hanging out takes place & it's on Morgan Bend Dr. As of 7:00 the count was 56 adults & probably about a zillion kids. 500 lbs. of crawfish has been ordered! I'm supposed to bring some sort of dessert. That usually means I go get some breakaways & call it a day. This year it might just be cookies I buy at Walmart because I have a hair appt. at 9:30 Saturday morning & the boil starts at 12:30. I don't really see any baking time in there & I will not be rescheduling the hair. I have roots people!

Speaking of food, what time do y'all eat? We're normally 6-6:30 eaters. Dean bought a seafood stuffed chicken the other day. This completely goes against everything I believe about wasting good seafood on chicken but I digress. The chicken was in the oven & Dean was going across the street. He left me strict instructions to uncover the chicken at 6:15 & it would need to cook another 30 minutes. He knows my boundaries & thought this was something I could handle. I did as I was told but was thinking it wasn't looking cooked, but what do I know?? A cook I am NOT! Well, at 7:45 we were finally eating. Apparently, the cooking instructions were if the chicken was completely thawed out which it wasn't. Had I known I would've had a snack!!!! I told Dean to be prepared for weird dreams & a not so good nights sleep.

Tutu's & Petit Fors

As usual the weekend has flown by. Saturday, I cleaned house. Really cleaned house. I did baseboards & mopped. Uggghhhh. I hated every minute of it. One good thing is it was a beautiful day so I opened all the windows. We had a surprise party to go to last night. Our friend Sandra was 40. We had a good time hanging out & eating. Here are the girls.

Here's Dean & I. Can't you tell he's thrilled with me taking pics of us. This was take 3!!

This is my new friend, Gilley.

He's our friends that hosted the party last nights dog. I've never been a fan of big dogs but he was just the sweetest thing! Maybe he sensed that I need a puppy. He sat by me for the longest time. It's got me thinking that maybe I need a cute little puppy for inside & a big dog for the backyard. Dean definitely won't go for that!!

Today I went to Mass & ran a few errands. This afternoon I went to my friend Wendy's baby shower. I've known Wendy for years & years & years & now me, Wendy & her hubby all work for the same company. Wendy is the "founder" of "The Worst Book Club Ever"! This is Allison, me, Wendy & Vicki. The cross looks like it's sitting on Vicki's head!

Little Emily Hope is due April 23rd. She's going to be one well dressed little girl! The outfits she got were soooo cute. Especially this one

This one is my favorite.

I love Wendy's expression. I was so busy trying to get her reaction that I didn't get the whole outfit. It's a white onesie with the Saints fleur de lis on it & the tutu goes on over it. Emily's daddy is a HUGE Saints fan. I can't wait to see her in it. Of course the best part of all showers is the food! These were soooo good!
\
We played Bingo with M&M's. This turned out to be a bit difficult. We kept eating the M&M's!

Of course they were pink!

It was another really pretty day so when I got home from the shower I sat on the patio with a glass of wine while Dean grilled. This was dessert.

Notice the Cadbury egg. Yep, I broke down when I was CVS today. They were on sale. I couldn't pass them up!!!!

Time for bed. Have a good Monday!!
