WTH is Nutella??

I know I may be the only person on the planet that doesn't know what the heck this stuff is. Is is salty? Is it sweet? With a name like Nutella, I immediately think salty but then I saw a recipe somewhere for something that was dessert like & it made me think it was sweet. It's like all of a sudden it's everywhere. I thought it was something new. Then I hear someone say it's been out forever & is next to the peanut butter. Which leads me to believe it's something like peanut butter. I don't like peanut butter unless it's in a Reeses or some other chocolate covered concoction. Some of the blogs I follow have commented on how they love it. I see people tweet about it. Still, I have no clue what it is. Is it fattening? Is it good for dieters? Please someone enlighten me.

On to other news. I still don't know how to operate my car. It's completely ridiculous I know. I know the basics & a few of the extras but there's still a whole lot of stuff I don't know.

Our weekend was nothing to write home about. We dropped the car off at the dealership to get detailed since the detailing guys were gone Thursday night when we bought the car. While that was being done Dean & I ran errands which included buying waders (those things are not cute) for Dean's trip to Alaska (more on that later) & had a fattening lunch at CiCi's Pizza Buffet. Yes, I know, we're big timers. HA! It was convenient & just opening so we knew the pizza would be good & hot & it didn't disappoint.

Once we picked up the car we went to visit our friends Niki & Paul who have a new baby. Well, he's 3 months old now but we hadn't seem him yet. This is Owen.

He's a very happy baby.

We were able to get home before the torrential rain started. I was happy that my car was going to stay clean for longer than a day. We did laundry & I read about the car then went to dinner at Brewbachers. That was our big Saturday night. I swear sometimes I think we're 80.

Sunday, my parents came over. We managed to swim in between more torrential rain. I know I was saying a few weeks ago how we needed rain but this is getting ridiculous. I went to Yogalates. I'm really starting to like the Sunday afternoon class.

This morning I was the "Facebook Fan of the Day" for one of our local morning shows. I've "liked" their channel on FB but I never watch this particular show because I listen to the radio while I get ready for work. My friend sent a text this morning telling me that they showed my picture & told a little about me. It was stuff they gathered from reading my FB post. They said I love to work out. HA!!! What a joke. Yes, I'm going to Yogalates regularly but I can't say I love it. Anyway, my prize is a coffee mug.

Toodles!

  7. Hey Traci, love the new ride.
I have seen nutella advertised on tv a lot and just assumed it was healthy, therefore, it is no good, lol. After reading some of the above comments, sounds like it may may not be so bad. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my kitchen. Ya'll try and stay cool down there, the humidity here is awful!!!!!

  8. I see people have answered about the nutella. It is sweet and if you don't like the flavor of hazelnuts you won't like it. If
you do, it is slightly thinner than hot fudge sauce and very rich...chocolate and hazelnut and very smooth with no "nut chunks" involved. I like it, but I'm not hooked on it. Some people are addicted, I swear.

Congrats on the coffee mug and the rain...we could use some here to cool us down a bit!

  9. Those Canadians introduced me to Nutella - they eat it on toast. I just can't. It is almost like the consistency and taste of chocolate pudding. Again, I just can't.

  11. I've never tried Nutella, although it's been around for years...hazelnut with chocolate I think...it doesn't appeal to me. Congrats on your new car...it looks nice, but sounds like they should offer a class like when you buy a computer or sewing machine. Owen is adorable!
