About the best laid plans. Remember I said we had nothing planned for the weekend? It was going to be cold, it had been a week & I just wanted to wrap up in a blanket & lay on the sofa & read? Yeh that didn't happen. The neighbors called & wanted us all to go to dinner so off to The Chimes we went. If that wasn't enough they decided they wanted yogurt. Really? It's 40 degrees outside. Oh well, never let it be said I don't go with the flow. I had a delicious cup of sugar free chocolate & cheesecake combo. They even had a sugar free mocha frap flavor which was surprisingly delicious. So, now I drink coffee & like coffee flavored yogurt. So weird!
Saturday morning I got up & ran a few errands. I had a birthday gift to buy for Dean's Godchild. My MIL & FIL gave me some money for Christmas so while I was out I bought this for my Pandora braclet.
I thought the little Bible was so cute. I bought my mom the same on for Christmas. My next stop was Hobby Lobby. There were several aisles of stuff that was 66% off. I found this cross.
It's black iron. I think I'm going to paint it brown. It was $4.50. Believe it or not there were still some Christmas items left. The only thing I was interested in were some burgundy silk poinsettias. I wanted some to put in my tree & these were 90% off. What's even better is that it was a bunch of poinsettias & I paid $1.00 for each bunch. I picked up a photo album & finished putting all the photos in so that's another item checked off the to do list. I found a cute coffee cup for $5.50 too. Then it was home for a late lunch & the Saints game. What is it with Louisiana football this week?? At least this was a better game but it ended the same.
Have I mentioned that I'm a coffee drinker now?? So weird. Lydia told me this would happen. The Keurig came with a box of different coffees & teas. I've tried several of the coffee. Some I liked, others not so much. Emeril's big bold? I'll pass. French roast? yes please.
Being that I'm a new coffee drinker I've never tried any of the flavored creams but I've seen several blog peeps talk about how good they are. This one is mocha. It's really good. That's my new mug. Cute huh? It's not exactly what I was looking for but it'll do for now.
Hope y'all had a great weekend.

Annoyed
I know it's been awhile since I posted but this stupid brace is cramping my style. I can type with it but much slower than my normal speed & I find that after spending a day at work on the computer my hand is tired. It doesn't hurt bad but it's definitely different from the weekends when I manage to stay off the computer. So that's what I did this weekend. I only got online to check my fantasy football scores. I did look at Facebook & check email from my phone. I mean who can go a day without Facebook right?? Suffice it to say the brace is annoying.
This weekend was rather slow. Friday night I hosted "The Worst Book Club Ever". As usual we had a lot of fun. We ate & chatted. I've noticed a developing theme at these parties. We talk less & less about books at each one. Normally, there's a lot of book swapping going on but that even slowed down this time. I know I'm up to my eyeballs in books. Aside from my Nook, which I love by the way. If anyone is thinking of getting one for Christmas I highly recommend it. Anyway, aside from my Nook I have a stack of books from my MIL that I'm trying to get through. I planned to do a lot of reading on the ride to Disney but Amelia-Ann informed me that she's going to bring board games for us to play. Not sure how that's going to work out.
Saturday, I did a little Christmas shopping. I was able to pick up a few things before I got too aggravated. Traffic was annoying, the one handedness (I don't think that's a word) was doubly annoying. Something that I didn't think about was signing the credit card receipt. Yeh, my signature looked like a celebrity autograph & I had several funny looks. Whatevs people. No shopping trip is complete this time of year for me without some sort of decorations. I picked up a couple of things at Hob Lob & Michael's. After my shopping trip Dean & I went to Mass & then to dinner at Monjuni's. It's one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I had the vegetable lasagna. Soooo good!! Then it was home to watch football & listen to LSU on the radio.
Nothing too exciting this weekend but I am excited that I have a short work week this week. I'm off Friday. I hope to get all of my Christmas decorating done this weekend.
Toodles!!

No More Traffic!!
I didn't realize that it had been a week since I blogged. I still don't have bathroom pictures. I hope to remedy that at some point this weekend. That trip to Hob Lob I had to make finally happened yesterday. Well, let me back up. It happened for the first time Friday night. Dean & I had dinner at Casa Maria which just happens to share a parking lot with Hobby Lobby. After we ate we walked over. The candles weren't on sale. I refuse to buy candles at Hob Lob if they're not on sale. Simply because I know they will be on sale in the near future, probably the next week. Sure enough in the ad in Sunday's paper all the candles are 50% off. I went yesterday & fought ridiculous traffic to get there. What happened? All the red candles have been moved to the Christmas area of the store & they weren't on sale. Needless to say I was a bit perturbed. I made an excutive decision after it took me 35 minutes to get home from Hobby Lobby which is a 15 min. drive tops. I will not be making stops after work anymore.
Seriously, it's always something. Yesterday, an 18 Wheeler overturned on the interstate & it was closed for like 14 hours so that meant every surface street in town had even more traffic than normal. Today there was a naked man threatening to jump off a bridge which caused a lane of a major road to be shut down while they attempted to talk this guy down. This may sound really insensitive but I don't think the guy really wanted to jump. If he did, he would've. I think the talking him down was a waste of time & manpower. I'm just thankful I don't have to travel that way. Can you imagine driving down the road & seeing a naked man on a bridge???
We had a very busy weekend. My parents closed on their house Friday so Saturday morning we headed over to do some painting. I should add that Dean & my parents headed over to the house & I headed to get my hair cut & highlighted. Once that was done I joined them. We painted & painted & painted some more & we're not done but we're getting close. Sunday was more of the same. Scott was able to get their yard cut & the front landscaped. It looks so much better. Am I the only one annoyed when people don't clean the house & cut the grass before they move out?? It just seems like a crappy way to welcome someone to their new home.
The house is across the street from Scott, Lydia & Logan which means we saw a lot of the little man this weekend.
He'd just woken up from his nap which is why he was being so still. He's CONSTANTLY on the move.
See what I mean? At one point he grabbed a paint brush & headed straight for the paint. He didn't seem to understand that it wasn't as fun as it looked!
I just thought this one was too cute! He loves to go for wagon rides.
This weekend aside from painting, I have my Fantasy Football Draft. Wendy & I are once again teaming up. We hope to have a better team this year since we know more about what we're doing.
Wow, I didn't realize life had been so boring lately!!
Toodles!

I Heart Hobby Lobby
At lunch today I went to Sam's to pick up some wine. Friday night I'm hosting the get together for the worst book club ever. The man in front of me was holding up the line because he wanted a bag. UM HELLO Sam's doesn't have bags. When she tells him they don't have them he looked at her like she was crazy & she looked at me & rolled her eyes. He was a little Nese man so I'm not sure he even understood what she was telling him. I've yet to figure out why he even wanted a bag. He had one item! Who can't carry one item?? These are always the kinds of things that happen to me when I'm in a hurry. Oh & you know the bane of my existence, the motorized scooter? I had one of those trying to get in front of me in line. NO DUDE, you had on shorts, I don't think you had to be back at work, get behind me. All of this could've been avoided if the EBR Metro Council didn't have the ridiculous law that you can't buy alcohol before 11:30 on Sundays. We were at Sam's Sunday morning but it was only 10:30 so no alcohol for me! I can't figure out what the purpose of this law is. Is the Metro Council trying to sober people up? I really don't think the average drunk cares what the Metro Council thinks. All they're doing is inconveniencing people like me that do their grocery shopping early on Sundays.
So I really heart Hobby Lobby. Maybe moreso than Lowe's. Monday after work I went & bought this.

Its home is going to be on the gate that goes across my driveway. I'll add a bow & some lights & shape it a little better but I think it's going to look great. I've been wanting a big wreath for a couple of years but I always wait to long & the stores are sold out. Dean knew I was buying it but when he came to get it out of the truck he was shocked. He didn't realize how big it was going to be. After I saw the look on his face I got worried that it was too big. He held it up on the gate & it's fine. Big, but fine.
