The last few weekends have been a lot of yard work. When I say a lot I mean 4 yards of dirt & 20 bales of hay. Not just the regular bales that you buy at Lowe's. These bales.
I didn't think that looked like a lot of dirt but Dean, the dirt spreader didn't have the same opinion. We found a guy that delivers the pine straw which was so convenient.
As it turns out we didn't have enough dirt. Figures. We were building up all of our existing beds & we cleaned out the rock garden & we started over in that area. I was ready for something different.
We finished the front.
I love the purple Iris.
These are on the patio. Supposedly, some of these keep mosquito's away. We'll see.
This weekend we were at Lowe's - I can spend a ridiculous amount of time & money in the Lowe's garden section. Anyway, I bought hanging plants. I'm not short but I'm also not tall. Apparently, I'm not tall enough to hang the plant on the hook because when I did it came crashing down.
This was the result. Lovely. Sunday I went looking for a solution to this.
This is all I could come up with. I like the look much better than the plastic pot but I've never had luck growing anything in these things. Any tips?
This is a new bed that we made.
Inside the gate that goes across the driveway.
I haven't always had the best of luck with planting stuff around the mailbox but I think part of that is because I tend to forget to water. I'm going to try & stay on top of that this year.
Next up is finishing up the backyard & pressure washing everything.
Toodles!
