One of these days I'll get back on track with Weigh In Wednesday. I'm sad to report I gained .4 this week. I can't say I'm completely surprised as I didn't eat great over the weekend. I think I'm back in my routine now so all is good. I've been to Yogalates 3 times this week & was planning to make today the 4th time BUT I forgot my Yoga towels at home. These things are a necessity. It's soooo hot & humid there's no way you can go to class without a towel. I leave work 30 mins. early on Yoga days & I don't have time to go home first. At least I got my 3 classes in & Allison & I will be back to walking the lakes Saturday morning.
I'm going to go ahead & put this out there. I didn't want to say anything in case I chickened out but maybe I won't since I'm blogging about it. My sister-in-law Lydia, has somehow (I'm thinking she has a direct link to the aliens that have invaded my body) convinced me that I need to run a 5K with her. Have I mentioned I don't run? Like ever? She wanted me to run one with her at the end of August. I kept my wits about me & declined. No way do I think I could go from no running to 3.1 miles in 6 wks. She insist I'm wrong. We compromised. I'll be running the "Reindeer Run" with her in December. So at some point in the future I'll be using the C25K app on my phone. A lot of the people in my Yogalates class are runners so I'm hoping all the work I've been doing will help. Please pray for me!!!
In other food related news, I had lots of comments (thanks for that) about Nutella after my last post. What I've learned is I probably won't like it! I don't know if I like hazelnut but I'm thinking I don't. Then the thought of spreading something that taste chocolatey on toast makes me a little sick. It also doesn't sound like it's low cal. Therefore, I won't be trying it. No need to get hooked on anything else that is going to make me gain weight. There's enough of that out there already.

WTH is Nutella??
I know I may be the only person on the planet that doesn't know what the heck this stuff is. Is is salty? Is it sweet? With a name like Nutella, I immediately think salty but then I saw a recipe somewhere for something that was dessert like & it made me think it was sweet. It's like all of a sudden it's everywhere. I thought it was something new. Then I hear someone say it's been out forever & is next to the peanut butter. Which leads me to believe it's something like peanut butter. I don't like peanut butter unless it's in a Reeses or some other chocolate covered concoction. Some of the blogs I follow have commented on how they love it. I see people tweet about it. Still, I have no clue what it is. Is it fattening? Is it good for dieters? Please someone enlighten me.
On to other news. I still don't know how to operate my car. It's completely ridiculous I know. I know the basics & a few of the extras but there's still a whole lot of stuff I don't know.
Our weekend was nothing to write home about. We dropped the car off at the dealership to get detailed since the detailing guys were gone Thursday night when we bought the car. While that was being done Dean & I ran errands which included buying waders (those things are not cute) for Dean's trip to Alaska (more on that later) & had a fattening lunch at CiCi's Pizza Buffet. Yes, I know, we're big timers. HA! It was convenient & just opening so we knew the pizza would be good & hot & it didn't disappoint.
Once we picked up the car we went to visit our friends Niki & Paul who have a new baby. Well, he's 3 months old now but we hadn't seem him yet. This is Owen.

He's a very happy baby.
We were able to get home before the torrential rain started. I was happy that my car was going to stay clean for longer than a day. We did laundry & I read about the car then went to dinner at Brewbachers. That was our big Saturday night. I swear sometimes I think we're 80.
Sunday, my parents came over. We managed to swim in between more torrential rain. I know I was saying a few weeks ago how we needed rain but this is getting ridiculous. I went to Yogalates. I'm really starting to like the Sunday afternoon class.
This morning I was the "Facebook Fan of the Day" for one of our local morning shows. I've "liked" their channel on FB but I never watch this particular show because I listen to the radio while I get ready for work. My friend sent a text this morning telling me that they showed my picture & told a little about me. It was stuff they gathered from reading my FB post. They said I love to work out. HA!!! What a joke. Yes, I'm going to Yogalates regularly but I can't say I love it. Anyway, my prize is a coffee mug.

More Vacay
About 8:00 Saturday night it started pouring. We were hoping when we woke up it would be a pretty day. Yeh, well, that was wishful thinking. I woke up several times during the night & it was storming EVERY TIME. This was our view when we woke up.

Nice huh?? After breakfast we decided to go to the movies. The majority of the group wanted to see Harry Potter. The "little girls", as they were known all week, saw Zookeeper & Dean, Jackie & I saw Bad Teacher. It was really funny. I still haven't figured out what the woman was thinking that brought her son with her who looked to be 5 or 6. The movie was rated R for a reason. Crazy. After the movie it was back to the condo to watch the Championship game of the World Cup. I'm not the least bit interested in soccer but it was actually kind of exciting to watch. At least the last few minutes.
The rain finally stopped & Dean, Cliff & I went out to the beach with the "little girls" to catch crabs. I've never done this. Those things were everywhere. Some big & some teeny tiny.
Amelia-Ann & Dean on our way to the beach. I don't know what they were doing. Please ignore the fact that Dean's clothes don't match at all. I normally don't let him out of the house like that but since we were on vacation at the beach I thought it was ok. Not to mention the fact that he would've looked at me like I was crazy if I told him he had to change to go catch crabs.

Amelia-Ann was worn out.
Tuesday, it was time to come home. Of course it was another gorgeous day & all the seaweed was gone. Oh well. On the way home we stopped in Ocean Springs, MS & ate at The Shed. It's been on the Food Network a ton of times.
It really does look just like a shed.

I'm not even a huge fan of BBQ but I really enjoyed my lunch. A pulled pork sandwich with slaw & a side of slaw & potato salad.

This is what it looked like inside. If you're in the area you should definitely stop!
We had a great trip & as usual it went by way too fast. I can't believe at this time last week I was on the beach!

I caught this one. He was big.
Monday we woke up to an absolutely gorgeous day. We spent the day on the beach. There was a lot of seaweed but we were just thrilled the sun was out. I don't get in the water. Maybe I'll get ankle dip but that's about it. Well, it's amazing what you do when two 12 yr. olds are begging. We bought those big inflatable inner tubes & rode the waves. I've never known of anyone to go to the beach & come home bruised. Everyday, I've found a new bruise. It's the most ridiculous thing ever. Those waves are rough when you're in a tube holding onto other tubes. It was SOOOO MUCH FUN though!

My New Ride!
I'll get back to vacay posts later. Most of my pics are still on the camera. Last night we went car shopping. I've been driving my Expedition for almost 7.5 years. While I loved it, it was time for something new. This is what I got.

So weird to me. I guess all the new cars have this though. OK so I'm off to read the directions now.
Happy Friday!!!!
Toodles!
It's the new Ford Explorer Limited. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! I was having a hard time deciding between black, white & silver but when we got to the dealership they only had 2 & both were black & one had the most horrific interior I've ever seen in my life. That made my decision very easy. I told the salesman that whoever decides what color seats they make needs to be fired. Seriously.
I think I need to take a class to figure out all the features. I'm definitely going to have to read the directions. YUCK! It doesn't even have a key. Just push a button & it starts. It talked to me this morning. It didn't like that I was fooling with the radio while I was driving. This lady came on & said "please use voice activation to prevent distracted driving". It's amazing what they do with cars now. This is what they're calling the "key".

Weigh In Wednesday
We're back from the beach. What a bummer. I gained 2.4 lbs. this week. Not a surprise at all. I ate & drank whatever I wanted while we were gone. Fried fish, BBQ, chips, dip, chocolate cake, pina colada's, bushwackers (which incidentally, Portofino has THE best ones EVER!!). You name it, I ate or drank it. Oh well, back on track today starting with Yogalates this afternoon.
So we left Friday morning. The weather was bad in Pensacola so we weren't in a hurry to get there. We stopped at Lambert's (you know, home of the thrown rolls?) & had lunch. For those that don't know, yes, they actually throw the rolls. The rolls are really good too. Now this isn't my type of place normally. It's lots of home cooking. I can eat home cooking at home anytime but I was outnumbered. Luckily, they had fried fish on the menu & some delicious potato salad. After lunch we went to the outlet mall in Foley, AL & did some shopping. I got a couple of pair of capri's, some Reebok shorts (LOVE them, they're sooo comfy) & another pair of flip flops. Yeh, I know, like I needed those. When we left the mall Amelia-Ann & her friend Maddie rode with us to the condo. Oh, how entertaining that was. I think we laughed the entire drive.

They're 12 going on 25. After a stop at Publix for a ridiculous amount of food, we got to the condo & the girls headed to the beach while we checked in. I think it took all of about 3.5 minutes for Amelia-Ann to get stung by a jellyfish. She's tough though & didn't let it slow her down.
Once we got settled in, we played cards & had snacks while Dean grilled burgers & hot dogs.
We were concerned that it was going to rain the entire time we were there. When we woke up Saturday morning it was really cloudy. I went to the gym & walked 4 miles on the treadmill. After getting lost in the resort without my phone for 25 minutes I finally found my way back to the condo. Have I ever mentioned since I got married I have no sense of direction?? Anyway, we had breakfast & headed to the beach. We were lucky that it didn't start raining until later in the afternoon. This was my view for most of the afternoon. It was fabulous! Once the rain started we went back to the condo for lunch & naps. Since it was raining we decided to go to Mass & then out to dinner. We went to a place called Crabs. It was good. I had this great little drink called Voodoo Juice.
It was rum & lots of fruit juices. SOOOO good!!! Amelia-Ann ordered what was called the "Crab Cluster". She wasn't overjoyed to see that she actually had to open the crabs.
After dinner we headed back to the condo. We played cards for awhile. I learned a new game & thanks to Sheri I'm also addicted to Solitaire on my iPhone.
That about sums up the first couple of days. More later.

Weigh In Wednesday on Thursday
I didn't have time to blog yesterday. I lost .8 again this week. Oh well, a loss is a loss so I'm happy.
Today is my Friday & I'm VERY excited. We leave for the beach tomorrow morning. Yesterday after work I went & got my nails beach ready. I had a mani & pedi. I tried Shellac for the first time on my fingers. It's supposed to last longer. We'll see. For $5 more I thought I'd give it a try. There are a lot of colors to choose from.

This is called Gotcha. It's a little brighter than what I normally wear on my nails but I thought it would be great for the beach. I didn't realize it until this morning but it matches my purse perfectly! I also didn't notice until I took this picture that I have old hands. On my toes I got OPI's Strawberry Margarita.

Speaking of feet. I entered a contest a few weeks ago on Veronika's blog for Stiletto Hardware & I won! I got all this stuff to make my shoes more comfy.

There are heel pads & ball of the feet pads. If you know me you know all about my cute over comfort mantra. I have some of the most uncomfortable shoes known to man but they're SOOOOO CUTE!!!
Well, as much as I'd like to continue to take pics of my nails & talk about shoes, I have actual work to do.

Countdown!!!
We leave for the beach Friday & it can't get here soon enough. I cannot wait to lay around & do absolutely nothing!!
Yesterday, Allison & I met to walk the lakes. We hadn't gone in 2 weeks. Everyone's been busy on the weekends & yesterday was no different so we met at 7:00 am. We also thought it would be cooler. Yeh right. It was 80 & really humid.
I had a ton of errands to run. Allison & I made plans to meet up for lunch & then a little shoe shopping. One of my first stops was Super Walmart. I went about 2 years without setting foot in a Super Walmart. I just hate that store. However, I needed to pick something up & I knew they had it & it was convenient so off I went. Want to know what that something was????
It's a CD. Yes, I know I need to move into the 21st century & just download stuff to the iPod on my iPhone but my Expedition is 7 years old & doesn't have an iPod hookup but it does have a 6 disc CD changer. Besides, this came with a DVD & a poster. I didn't know about the poster but when I saw it I told Dean I was going to hang it by our bed. He wasn't amused. HAHA!!! So, of course as soon as I get in the car I put the CD in so I can enjoy the boys while I deal with traffic. Yeh, not happening. I had 6 CD's in the changer so I ejected 1 & when I went to load the new CD it was stuck halfway in & out. Lovely. I got it out but the other 5 weren't moving. Not only would they not move, none of them would play. Great. We're only a few weeks away from trading in the Expedition so of course it decides to break now. Dean spent a lot of time today working on it. Those CD's are NOT coming out but he did get them to play. Someone, whether it's a mechanic at the car dealership or a new owner of my Expedition, is going to have quite a surprise when the CD's finally come out. There are 2 NKOTB, Fuel, Britney Spears & a religious one. HAHA! Nobody can say I don't like a variety of music.
I'd bought a Groupon a few weeks ago for a little store in the mall. I went to spend it yesterday. They had some cute stuff. I got this top.
Last week Wendy, Allison & I were looking at makeup on Sephora's website & we found some stuff on sale. It came in Friday & I love it. It has pretty much every color eye shadow I could ever need & probably some that I don't!
It has eye shadow, lip gloss, eye liner, blush & bronzer. It's got a great mirror & that black compact looking thing is to interchange the shadows & blush to take with you when you can't bring the whole thing.
Allison & I met at McAllisters for lunch. It was delish. Afterwards, we headed to my favorite store, Shoe Station. UGH! I was so disappointed. I didn't find anything. That NEVER happens. Allison didn't find anything either. We were both looking for a taupe/light tan pair. We headed over to Kohl's since it practically shares a parking lot with Shoe Station. Look what we found!
Cute huh? We each got a pair. We decided to check out DSW just in case we found something we liked better. Everything we saw wasn't as cute & cost more so I think we did good. I did find something in the little clearance room in the back of the store. I've always been lucky in that little area. I got these.
These look black but they're dark brown. I love them & they're actually comfortable! While I was shopping Dean was crabbing with his dad. Once we both got home we went & had dinner at Monjuni's. It's one of my favorite Italian restaurants. They always do Groupon & Living Social too so that's nice.
Today we worked in the yard awhile & then cooled off in the pool. If you want to call it that. The water was a tad warmer than ideal. I managed to catch up on the Housewives & then went to Yogalates this afternoon. I never go on Sunday's but I really enjoyed it. I may make it a habit.
I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Toodles!
