I know it doesn't seem like it but I'm still around. I had an unrealistic idea of what my work life was going to be like after we went live with our new system. This is when I have to remember my mantra. "Have no expectations & then you're never disappointed" . Pretty depressing I know, but not nearly as much as getting excited about something that doesn't happen. It used to just be my baseball mantra. I adopted it many years ago when the great Skip Bertman retired & his replacement proved to not be worthy of the job. I decided when this whole work project started it would serve me well.
So there's been overtime this week & it's looking like tomorrow isn't going to be my Friday. Sigh. I don't know how long this is going to last but I do know that Vegas is booked & the 11th is my last day of work.
No weigh in this week. I just didn't do it. I ran Mon. & went to Yoglates Tues & today. I'm running tomorrow. Yesterday, I just wanted to sleep.
I'm behind on all of my blog reading. Eventually, I'll catch up.

???????
Wondering about the title? Basically, it's a microcosm of the week. Tons of questions, not a lot of answers. Of course it's all work related. Things are cuckoo for cocoa puffs as my friend Wendy would say. There hasn't been but an hour of OT this week so that's good. It's non stop craziness when I'm there but the day is flying by so that's good too. Trying to look on the bright side.
I was VERY excited to get these in the mail this week.
On the "Weigh In" front I stayed exactly the same this week. I've gotten back on track with my workouts for the most part. I didn't do anything Monday because I was nauseous when I woke up & hadn't slept well. I went to Yoglates Tuesday & Thursday. The teacher that normally teaches is on vacation in Ireland. The sub is one of the teachers that isn't my favorite because she's like 25 & a marathon runner & thinks everyone else is too. I honestly think she tried to kill us Thursday. I ran Wednesday & Friday & this morning I did my own workout. Basically, it was a short version of Yoglates. Neighbors are coming over for the game tonight & I'm making dip so I knew I had to get some sort of workout in.
Thursday night Dean & I had dinner at Gino's. This is one of those places that we don't go to very often but it's ALWAYS good. I'd bought a Groupon awhile back & it was going to expire soon. I had the seafood lasagna. OMG. Soooo good.
Last night we went with friends to Fleur de Lis Pizza. This place is basically a hole in the wall & you know what that means. AMAZEBALLS PIZZA! All they have on the menu is pizza, chips & pickled eggs. BLECH! I don't even know what a pickled egg is but I think of pickled pigs feet. Anyway, it's easily the best pizza I've ever had. It's been years since we'd been there. The secret here is to call & order your pizza when you leave the house & tell them you're going to eat there. Otherwise, you'll be waiting forever. I had the veggie pizza.
So, so, so good. It will NOT be years before we go back. If you order a large pizza they cut it in squares.
Jackie had a beer. Isn't the little glass they bring you cute?
So, that's been my week in a nutshell. Hope y'all have a great weekend. I'm going make dip.

Weird Shopping Trip
Our plans Saturday was to go to Sam's & to Radio Shack to get a memory card for the new camera. Sam's was good. I picked up a couple of things that I didn't need as usual. My "most comfortable pants in the world" as they're known are the brand Green Tea. This sweatshirt is the same brand.
I really like the neck. If I'm just laying around the house I don't like to have something tight around my neck. I thought this would be perfect for those laying around winter days.
I love the color of this cardigan.
I'm always cold at work. I keep an LSU jacket at my desk but I get tired of being dressed for work & then I put that on. I've started buying cardigans in various colors & I bring whichever one matches what I'm wearing to work.
I picked up a pair of jeans too.
I have no idea why the picture is upside down & I didn't feel like figuring it out. I have a headache. The jeans are Bandolino. I like the dark color. I don't have any that shade & they were only $17!
We also got this.
I love this sort of stuff. The little dishes are stoneware.
Next up was Radio Shack. I'd seen online that they had the Memory Card on sale that our friend, Dave (the camera guru) recommended that I get. This is where it gets weird. Dean & I are now each the proud owners of this.
The 4s. Now we have Siri. Which incidentally I keep calling Suri. You know Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes daughter? We both had the regular 4 & were perfectly content with them. The guy working at Radio Shack is standing outside with a mike & speaker set up & he's just talking as people walk by. We go in & tell him what we're there for, he gets it & then asks "What kind of cell phone do you have?" We told him. "Do you want to reserve the 5?" NOOOOO. Perfectly happy with what we have. Then he proceeds to tell us that they have a trade in program & we could trade in our iPhone 4 for $115. The 4s is $100 so we we'd also have a $15 credit. Yeh, ok what's the catch? Surprisingly, the only catch was that you had to be eligible for an upgrade & you had to spend your $15 credit that day. No biggie because we were buying the card. Dean was eligible, I wasn't BUT my mom's phone is on our plan & she was eligible because unlike me she likes her phone & has no desire to have to figure out how to work a new one every year. He said I could take her upgrade so I did. Of course I wanted a white phone like I had & he was out but another location had it. He said he'd take care of everything & then I could go pick it up at the other store.
We were in this store for like an hour & 15 minutes. It was very entertaining. This kid was a salesman for sure. When I made a comment about needing to be finished because I had milk in the car he told me I was welcome to bring it in & put it in his fridge. It was in one of those insulated bags so it was fine. Every single person that came in he asked about their cell phone. There was also a wide variety of characters that came in & out while we were there. A woman tripped on the curb & fell. She was fine, just embarrassed. She was with her husband. They were from Arkansas & she was missing a lot of teeth. Personally, I would've been more embarrassed by that than the fall. There was the IT guy that told us he learned how to jailbreak his phone from a 13 year old kid on YouTube. There were 2 chicks that needed to buy an actual boom box for their office because the computers were upgraded & they couldn't listen to Pandora anymore. Two sisters on their way to N. Carolina to bring a War scrapbook to a museum that their 94 year old dad made before he died came in too. What was surprising about all this was that nobody was the least bit impatient. Nobody was mad they had to wait. So. Very. Weird.
Then it got weirder. When he typed in the serial numbers or whatever it was from our phones he told us he could give us each $142 for our trade. When it was all said & done we got 2 iPhone 4s, the memory card & Dean got an Otter Box for free. WTH??? I swear this has to be one of the best deals I've ever gotten! Then he printed our receipts.

My island is 4 ft. long. the receipts were almost as long as the island & there were 4 of them. They're killing some serious trees. Once the receipts were printed we had to go & pick up my phone at the other location. After the fact I realized that I should've just gotten a black phone because it would've been easier but I'm happy with my white one. They had to transfer my pictures so that took another 20 minutes because some of them are backed up on my laptop & some of them aren't. We went across the street to Chick fil A while they transferred them. It was delish!! I hadn't eaten there in a really long time.
Saturday evening we went to Mass & then to dinner at Portobello's. When we got home we went to a neighbors & watched the LSU game. Soooo boring. They won 63 to something or other. Maybe next week against Auburn will be a better game.

Weigh In Thursday
I'm back on track. I think anyway. I'm 7 lbs. from my goal weight. I skipped at least a week weighing. I was eating bad because I was working so much & food was being brought in. I just didn't want to see a weight gain. I was stressed enough. So this morning when I weighed I was happy to see that things weren't out of control.
I'm back on track with the workouts too. Sunday I got in the pool & swam 30 laps (300 meters). I swam without taking breaks in between. Definitely a good arm workout.
Monday I ran. The weather was so great. We had a cold front that
came through & it was in the low 60's. The run however, was not great. It had been 2 weeks since i ran. Apparently, that was a problem. I pushed myself to do 25 mins. It was the first time I felt bad after a run.
Tuesday I went back to Yoglates bright & early at 5:30. That was hard too but not as hard as last week. I've said it before, it's not fun when you have to miss a week of classes.
Wednesday I ran again. The humidity was back. The run was better but I just did 28 mins. I could've pushed through but I was in front of my house so I figured it was a good time to stop. I didn't want to feel like I did Monday.
This morning, more Yoglates. Tomorrow I'll run. As of now I plan to take Saturday off.
I've still been working overtime this week but not crazy hours like last week. Hopefully, the end is near!

Over My Head
I love The Fray! I'm ready for a new album. How To Save A Life is my favorite. I remember when it was played like once an hour on the radio. LOVE! Back to being over my head. Today I got a new toy!!!
No thanks to Sam's or FedEx! All the thanks goes to the best hubs in the world!!! DEAN!! I made another phone call to Sam's yesterday when I never heard back from them. I was told "the package was lost in shipping" Well DUH!!! "The only thing we can do is refund your money & you can go online & order it again". Um NOOOO!!!! Yes, you can refund my money but no I won't be reordering. I was livid. Add that to another crappy day at work I was just a joy to be around. Of course the manager I spoke to yesterday couldn't tell me why the manager I spoke to Friday told me he was calling Nikon. Whatever! I had every intention of buying the camera somewhere other than Sam's because of the lack of customer service I received. However, I keep thinking about how hard I've been working & I don't want to spend a penny more than I have to. So, Dean went to Sam's & bought it. When I ordered it originally it was cheaper online but now it's the same price in the store.
It came with all of this stuff!
There's a case (not a cute one), there are books & DVD's & even a "Nikon School" DVD. Definitely over my head. It took 15 minutes to get the strap on. I don't do well with diagrams. I need written words. I will read & watch it all & I'm determined to figure it all out!! Any tips??

It's Saturday Y'all!!!
And I'm on my sofa! WOOOO HOOOO!!! I'm soooo excited. Two whole days off. I was beginning to think it would never happen. This is my new mantra.
One of my friends at work told me yesterday how impressed he was with me because of how aggravated I've been the last 2 weeks & I never blew up at anyone. I'm not even sure how I feel about that.
The "Core Team" for the conversion went to dinner Wednesday night. We went to Juban's. I'd never been there before. Dean had & he wasn't impressed. I second that. My food was bland which is certainly not normal for Louisiana food. I had French Martini's that were great & the bread pudding was really, really good. For my entree I had seafood stuffed fish. I honestly didn't think any chef in Louisiana could mess something like that up. I was wrong. It was $26 for the fish. This is a fine dining restaurant so there were no sides that went with that. I'm glad the company was paying. I won't be back. I wasn't the only one that didn't like my meal either. It looked better than it tasted.
The stuff that looks like mashed potatoes is bearnaise sauce.
Thursday I worked late again but I had a surprise when I got home.
I've had a few drinks recently that are made with Chambord & I've loved them. Dean went to Sam's & they had this little set.
I had a delivery this week that I was excited about.
Love, love, love our "Geaux Cups"! One side says "Geaux Cup", that's pronounced go for those of you not familiar with LSU. The print & pic is in purple. The other side has the fleur de lis with the eye of tiger & tiger stripes. One of LSU's logo's is the eye of the tiger since the masot is a tiger. I have a friend that orders these for us. All the neighbors get together & design cups. It's a little party. The whole crew gets Geaux Cups & then everyone orders their own. These are what I did this time for Dean & I.
There's a glare & I'm too lazy today to get up & go take another picture. It says Cheers Y'all. The print is a pretty gold.
Speaking of pictures, I'm NOT HAPPY. I ordered a new camera. I've jumped on the DSLR bandwagon. I ordered it August 23rd. It was shipped August 24th. It was scheduled to be delivered August 30th. Isaac hit & it was delayed. Today is September 8th & I STILL DON'T HAVE IT. After numerous calls to FedEx, the Post Office & Sam's, it's been determined that the camera is lost. I have zero faith in people so I think it was stolen. Regardless, I don't have it. Supposedly, Sam's is going to have Nikon send me another one. So annoyed. Some of you may ask if I bought it from Sam's why did I order it online. I have several very valid reasons. I'm working ridiculous hours & didn't really have time to go over there & get it. It was cheaper online. I could go through Ebates & I got cash back. Ordering it online through Sam's means I can charge it on my credit card that I also get cash back on. Whereas in the store Sam's doesn't take Visa. However, I'm beginning to rethink that decision. The lady at FedEx told me that everything that was in the container that my camera was in was scanned in at the post office EXCEPT my camera. Well, that's my luck. Like I said, I'm annoyed.
I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Aside from going to the neighbors for the LSU game I'm spending my weekend catching up on rest & reading.

OVER IT!
Work that is. Yes, I'm still complaining about work. Hopefully, this is the last week of that. This has been an absolutely horrible 8 days. With the exception of Wed. & the hurricane I've done pretty much nothing besides work. The new pay period started Saturday & when I got here this morning I'd already worked 27.5 hours. Not to mention Thursday & Friday were back to back 14 hour days. Like I said HORRIBLE!!!
This morning I went to Yoglates. I haven't gone in 11 days. Between them being closed for the hurricane & me having to be at work early & late there was no time to go. This morning was brutal. OMG. So hard. While there's been no exercising there's been plenty of eating. Nothing good for you either. This was last Monday.
It only went down hill from there......BBQ, fried fish, more Mexican, burgers, fries, onion rings, Dr. Peppers & coffee. I haven't weighed & I don't intend to until maybe next week. I don't want to give myself a heart attack.
Saturday night was the only time I had even a little bit of fun since the hurricane party last Tuesday. I was so tired I can hardly call it fun though. It was more like making it through the evening with friends with falling asleep in my plate. The neighbors came over for the LSU game. Dean cooked. This was my healthiest meal in the last week.
Sorry it's blurry but Dean grilled salmon & veggies & then that's one of neighbor Matt's chicken wings. They are THE BEST!!! Then there was anti pasta from another neighbor. YUM!
Hopefully, things will be completely back to normal by the weekend & I'll be able to catch up on all my blog reading.
